Welp. I think any chance he had to win just went up in smoke. This is going to backfire spectacularly with undecideds. This just screams to voters like me who were on the fence that he doesn't have the decision-making skills to be Governor.

Based on what I'm reading on here, the United States should have surrendered in the fall of 1776. There was no victory in sight, the British Army seemed unstoppable. Young men were needlessly dying in a war the US could never win.
By this reasoning, anytime a smaller nation is invaded by a larger one, the smaller one should just give up so young people will stop dying.

This was a pump-action shotgun purchased by the shooter's mother. Even the strictest gun control proposals don't ban a purchase like that. We need to look at a whole lot more than gun laws. There's a serious mental health crisis in this country.
The mass shooting at Silver Rail Elementary in Bend is another horrifying act of violence that has struck our schools. Our schools should be places of safety, dedicated to education and community. No parent should be afraid to drop their kids off at school. But too often, they are now the site of horrible sadness and atrocities. My heart is with the victims, their families, and the entire community.
Members of Congress owe it to every family affected by gun violence to pass meaningful reforms so this never happens again. I will not rest until every childhood is free from the scourge of gun violence.

Andrew Scott delivers this speech too slowly; I know some viewers will hate the way he breaks up the verse. AND YET even in spite of that I think this is the best delivery of this soliloquy I’ve ever seen.
He makes it sound like it’s not a portentous speech everyone already knows but a morally serious real-time deliberation, by a highly intelligent person in extreme pain, considering what it would mean to end his own life.
