Hot take but if they actually made the dungeons and combat fun, people would be more inclined to actually do the content rather than fast forward it. Catering to the side of XIV that doesn't actually want to play their game is a pretty bad direction as opposed to, idk. Fixing its problems.

One of my absolute MAJOR peeves in gaming is when I’m playing with or watching someone that doesn’t read any text/hints/whatever that clearly tell you where to go and they flail or complain about not knowing. Like bro it’s right there use your eyes.

Finished Control: Resonant and here's some quick, non-spoiler thoughts:
Game is just okay, imo? It's not necessarily bad. It just doesn't scratch the same itch for me that Alan Wake and the original Control does. The world is interesting and unique, but not as much as either of those.
The combat is, to me, the worst part of the game. Build-a-combo sounds fun in practice but when you're just spamming the same buttons for 35 hours it loses its luster. The powers are interesting, but button mapping for controller makes them miserable to try to use all at once and playing an action game with keyboard and mouse just isn't the play either.
The story is whatever. It proposes some interesting theories/ideas, but you can tell that Sam Lake was hands off on this one.
This sounds like I disliked it. I.. didn't. I think some people will really enjoy its relative simplicity. But I was hoping it'd make me feel like AW1/2 and OG Control did and it simply didn't, and that might be on me. I think it was about 10-ish hours longer than it needed to be, because by the time I hit the 20-25ish hour point I started getting really tired of the combat. Perhaps if it was better/more intuitive I would have enjoyed it more or longer?
Playing Control Resonant is fun 'cause I get to hear what it must have been like in Valve's offices and have Gabe Newell do some mongolion throat singing in my ears every time I finish a quest/do something cool
PS: friends that know me know I’ve complained about the game since Season 9 dropped. I’ve constantly called it out since it dropped for being just awful and miserable to play because it ruins economy and balance. The best thing they can do is admit they fucked up and remove it all imo. The rest of the issues are just icing on the cake for compounding problems. They are all REAL problems but people were willing to look the other way because they were having fun. Now no one is having fun and they’re pissed that the game is genuinely ass to play.
The problem is the Marvel Rivals team is very reactional. If you notice, the only time they’ve ever really handled issues is when it hits critical mass on Twitter/social media. They’re all about putting band-aids on topics instead of handling the core of the issue. The community is tired of it and I don’t blame them.

the state of marvel rivals genuinely makes me feel gross to hop on and stream i feel gross to support a company that continues to show they don’t care abt the community when it comes to racism transphobia homophobia and etc
unfortunately this game made the careers of myself and many others so to jump ship and leave my source of income is hard. as someone who has a platform @MarvelRivals @NetEaseGames_EN speak up and do something it’s gross that nothing has been addressed and everyone is tired of the silence.
