The massively influential designer/illustrator is quite possibly homesick, plus fan mail from fellow practitioners: @_JustinSloane, @mira__joyce, @WadeJeffree, @shawnax, @erikinternet, and more.

In today’s newsletter, I wrote about Juan Atkins’ legacy, his achievements—as, yes, the mastermind and origin point of techno—and the elusive qualities that continue to make his music so singular

youtu.be/wpyqR3nZ-2A?is=Wjl9… - a little love letter to Juan Atkins under his Model 500 productions and the soundtrack of my life for many years and still is. I was so nervous when sending this mix to Juan given it's reduced down to virtually a skeleton ghost version but his response gave me reassurance it was perfect the way it was. He said it was like living inside a dream so organic and alive, I'll never forget his words and encouragement. Beyond just being the creator of a sound, he was humble with one of the kindest hearts and soul, just an exceptional human who will be sorely missed. Rest in Power... Heaven got lucky this time... This void will be felt everywhere

Most Sunday's (and Mondays) I listen to the most recent Herb Sundays selection (shoutout @VALENTI). It's the perfect vaccination against the algorithm.

“Maybe it’s homesickness, maybe because I had a really delicious Bacalhau-à-Brás for lunch, but decided to do a mix with all Portuguese music. Some music made by friends, some music by people I never met but am a fan of, and some music by either older or dead people.”

Cashmere deep house x beatdown jazz from the master, 1995 - a super classy blueprint for so much “future jazz” and debonaire house to come.
