if you spend 80%+ of your work day in ChatGPT/Codex and want to test a fun lil social experience we're building hmu
always walk away from a Josh Miller interview with things percolating in my brain
Dialectic 61: Josh Miller!
@joshm has always been thoughtful about the spaces we spend time in.
The browser is "really a rectangle that we spend eight hours a day in." So "why would we not want to live in a good rectangle?"
Josh sat down with me to reflect on @browsercompany's journey about a year after it was acquired by @Atlassian.
We talked about everything from the original decision to "optimize for feelings" to hiring unlikely stars to where Dia and the browser stand in the AI era.
Above all else, Josh believes in people. I’ve felt that, as have so many others who’ve collaborated with him or simply been around him.
I hope you’re inspired to believe in people too, and to leave your fingerprints on the things you make.

when I grow old my children will not want to listen to my experimental ambient electronic music (my father subjected me to this torture) but I hope that I will have a Voxel to lull me into a false sense of security
(props to whoever designed the brand/site)
I have never watched Seinfeld nor Curb Your Enthusiasm but this profile is really great

Herb Sundays 200: An interview with Larry Heard
A chat with Chicago legend, now in Memphis, on his music and legacy, 40 years on from Washing Machine/Can You Feel It, the Deep House blueprint.
Plus a 26 song dive playlist into the Heard catalogue (Mr. Fingers, etc) from @Michaelcina . Art and sketch by Cina. Link in bio.

As you invite more agents to our work, and create software factories to be more productive than ever, you’ll soon outsource everything to an agent, even the thinking.
The work you will do will feel frictionless, it will feel amazing on the surface, but once you go a bit deeper, it’ll feel extremely shallow. It won’t reflect the struggles you went through, your decisions, and ideas.
It will no longer remind you of you and the work you aspire to.
You will turn into just another extremely efficient producer of things, but not a creator like you were before.
Invite friction to your work.
