🚨Today, Texas Children’s Hospital has officially launched their Detransition Clinic 🚨
Under the settlement, TCH must provide multidisciplinary detransition-related care FREE OF CHARGE for five years, including endocrinology, surgery, primary care, fertility counseling, mental health services, social work, and speech pathology.
I extend my heartfelt gratitude once again to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and my attorneys at the Burke Law Group for their extraordinary dedication, sacrifice, and tireless efforts throughout this fight. Their commitment helped turn a painful and difficult chapter into an opportunity for meaningful change. @KenPaxtonTX @BurkeLawTweets
I think of all the detransitioners who have suffered in silence, been dismissed, and fought desperately to have their voices heard. This win is for them.
I hope TCH’s admirable effort to fund and launch Americas first detransition clinic becomes a turning point for the entire country. That this clinic is not the exception, but the first of many.
Today’s a good day. ❤️

It’s important that people know what happened here. Unqualified lunatic doctor goes rogue, hands out hormones et al to kids without telling their parents. Second doctor *whose job it is* to pass on safeguarding concerns passes on such concerns, plus her own. Result: second doctor investigated for ‘transphobia’, smeared, subjected to hostile 4-hr interrogation, mental health severely impacted, forced out of her job. Over the next few years all her worst fears are much more than confirmed. Many children suffer severe, irreversible & completely preventable harm, not bc of a ‘bad apple’ but bc of NHS culture
‘Why are you so concerned?’
From an excellent account by @hannahsbee of a tribunal that ended a few days ago. Dr Sarah Redvers’s life was made a misery and her reputation trashed by people whose allegiance was to an ideology rather than individual patients. But the scandal wasn’t confined to Brighton, as…

So does Neocon just mean normal conservative now? Because they use it like it just means “not a socialist or Islamist.”
Megyn Kelly says the reason Abdul El-Sayed is doing so well in the Senate race is because he’s taking a hard stance against Israel and putting domestic issues first.
She then calls Mike Rogers a “neocon” and claims a lot of Republicans feel betrayed by Trump, so Rogers’ attempts to tie El-Sayed to radical Muslim groups aren’t going to motivate the GOP base in Michigan.

The Babylon Bee at their finest--which is mighty fine:
"Volunteers had reportedly prepared to hide the juror in houses, church basements, and Chick-fil-A stockrooms along the escape route. 'We've got our people looking out for any sign of danger, like a shirt saying "Love Is Love" or "Believe All Women,"' explained a pastor working the trail. 'It's a little different direction from the old Railroad, but it's still black people fleeing angry white Democrats who want to do them harm and force them to do their bidding. Some things never change, I guess.'"
"At publishing time, the juror had reportedly made it safely across the Pennsylvania border after narrowly escaping a mob carrying 'BE KIND' signs."

The Transgender Inquisition is global and unitary and will enact the same measures wherever it obtains the power to impose its will.
British Columbia is one region where the movement has unrestricted power to work its will. Accordingly, it has fined a school trustee $750K for criticizing a mandatory gender indoctrination program that teaches every child enrolled in the public school in the province that any of them can change sex, and now has fined a doctor an immigrant doctor $28K for declining to chemically castrate a child.
Meanwhile, a court in Colorado has ruled that a hospital must defy the federal government and risk all federal funding in order to continue inflicting irreversible medical harms on children. The doctors who would ordinarily be quite eager to continue sterilizing confused children are refusing to continue while under threat of criminal liability.
This is what transgenderism seeks everywhere: 1.) to brainwash every quirky child that they were born wrong and can be fixed by sterilizing treatments that will leave them on a medical leash for life, 2.) to compel doctors to participate in the sterilization of children, and 3.) to forbid women from drawing a boundary between themselves and any man who claims to be a woman and 4.) to deploy state power to coerce every person to falsify reality on behalf of anyone claiming to be a sex other than the sex they actually are.

The Guardian makes false or unsupported claims about pediatric gender medicine.
No one has ever surveyed American doctors about their support for this field. While most medical societies support it, that support is not based on a vote by members. The American Academy of Pediatrics has gone to great lengths to thwart efforts by dissident members to put the matter to a vote.
Gender treatments do not “demonstrably” reduce suicide, because no study has ever shown such an effect. Only one study has ever directly assessed whether giving cross-sex hormones to treat gender dysphoria in youths was associated with a lower suicide death rate. Based on comprehensive Finnish health records and published in 2024, the study found no such association. It found that while elevated among youth attending gender clinics, suicide death remained rare.

Shame kept me from saying anything earlier in memoriam to Sen. Lindsey Graham, who was a truer friend to Jews & Israel than we may ever see in Congress again.
I was a hard-left liberal for most of my life. I used to despise Lindsey Graham. I thought he was a hateful bigot. I mocked him and posted ugly rumors about him on social media.
The Democratic party's abandonment of women's rights and embrace of antisemitism has since turned me into a slightly-left-of-center moderate. When I saw friends posting gleeful comments about Graham's death on Facebook today, I was disgusted, but I also knew that if he had died 6 or 7 years ago, I probably would have done the same.
The truth is, he was never a bigot, but I was. I hated any politician on the right because Hollywood and the media told me they were all racists, homophobes and misogynists. I didn't examine their beliefs, or mine, beyond that.
It took me too long to grow up. I didn't love Lindsay Graham's decision to change course and back Trump, but he was nevertheless a man of integrity who stood by Jews even when it wasn't popular to do so, and who fought for the US' alliance with Israel even when it cost him. May his memory be a blessing.

I don’t know what was behind Makary’s resignation, but if I can piggyback on this essay, when I found out I had cancer, my coworker @GeorgiaMaeHowe urged me to reach out to Marty Makary to see if he might offer some advice.
We had interviewed him on Morning Wire, so I had his contact information. But I thought, my goodness, the man has just taken over the FDA! I can’t imagine how busy he is—I can’t bother him with my garden variety cancer diagnosis!
But, I also had some decisions to make. And it can be hard to know what treatment path to choose as an ordinary person with no medical expertise. So I bit the bullet and called him, a little nervous that he might find me presumptuous.
Not only did he give no hint that it was an imposition that I called him, he stayed on the phone with me for about 45 minutes, walking me through all the variables. Then he asked me who I was considering for my surgical oncologist. I mentioned a couple of names and he said, “Let me look into them and get back to you.”
This was far more than I was expecting from someone in his position with the kinds of demands he has on his time. But he called back a few days later and had vetted my surgical options and highly recommended one in particular. He had made calls to other oncologists he knew in Charlotte to ensure that it wasn’t just someone well trained surgically who looked good on paper, but also someone who had a great reputation for being ethical.
(and let me just say, I took Makary’s advice on which surgeon to choose, and it turned out to be a massive blessing because that guy wasn’t only an amazing physician, he also turned out to be a strong Christian, who goes to Kevin DeYoung’s church, so he was really encouraging spiritually through the process as well!)
Then Makary encouraged me to call him anytime if I needed further advice. Which I did, and on those occasions, he once again stayed on the phone with me for a long time, providing counsel and walking me through my options.
So all that to say, I’ve personally experienced Marty Makary’s character and I have to agree with this assessment. He’s a good man.
Marty Makary used to ambush a Virginia courthouse every other Friday.
That was the day the local tax-exempt hospital reserved the docket to sue its poorest patients.
Marty would show up at the door with a lawyer and intercept them on the way in.
They were working-class people in job uniforms, embarrassed, grim-faced, expecting to lose.
He reviewed the bills on the spot, for free, as a medical expert. Pointing out fraud, upcoding, inappropriate care, contradictions to the court.
Then his counterpart, a young lawyer named Joey Kirchgessner, argued until the hospital cried uncle.
They won A LOT.
I drove down one Friday to watch. I was working in the Trump White House at the time. I was so proud of him I could barely stand it.
That's the man the WSJ op-ed page wants you to believe is the problem.

Following the discussion about @NickKristof new blood libel in the The New York Times (rape by dogs, etc.), another critical fact was missed in the heat of the argument. Kristof cites former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert as confirming the suspicions.
And that is a journalistic malpractice.
Let us leave aside for a moment the fact that choosing *only* Olmert — who has become an extreme critic of the government and even served time in prison himself — is problematic. Why not ask also, for example, Naftali Bennett or Yair Lapid, whose experience as prime ministers is much closer to the relevant period? Why not speak with officers who are acquainted with the prison system and present diverse points of view?
Let us also leave aside the complete impossibility of the dog story, and also the fact that the three medical articles quoted by Kristof *do not* support his allegations.
The main problem is that Olmert did not say these things. According to a statement he gave to the New York Times, which was obtained by The Free Press, Olmert never confirmed allegations of rape. He apparently spoke about crimes in the West Bank in general, or settler violence, or something else.
Unlike the disputes over the credibility of Palestinian witnesses, or the Hamas-supporting organizations that fed Kristof with his information, this is something entirely unambiguous. Kristof interviewed a former Israeli statesman and distorted his words in a senseless manner.
Kristof is not a journalist, his article is not an investigation, and the New York Times long ago ceased to be a newspaper.

The Boston conference panel featuring four skeptics of pediatric gender medicine went off this morning with minimal disruptions. I obtained video and audio of the surrounding protests, one of the disruptions from a WPATH leader, and the moderator, Dr. Rauch, introducing the panel.
I've dropped all of that into an update to this Substack I published on Friday if you want to take a look:

Otherwise, the videos are below. They feature:
*Protests outside the conference hall, including a marching band.
*Kale Edmiston, a neuroscientist by training and a coauthor of one of the chapters of WPATH’s Standards of Care, disrupting the panel and interfacing with the panelists.
*A protester being dragged away.
Controversial Pediatric Gender Panel Draws Trans-Activist Push for Cancellation
benryan.substack.com/p/trans…
Trans-activist Substacker Erin Reed has prompted an uproar over a panel of skeptics of pediatric gender medicine slated for Sunday at the Pediatric Academic Societies meeting in Boston.
Transgender activists and their allies are in an uproar over an upcoming medical-conference panel concerning pediatric gender medicine that features skeptics of this field whom activists accuse of being anti-trans.
Since the prominent trans-activist Substacker Erin Reed published an article about the panel on Tuesday, conference organizers have apparently been inundated with tens of thousands of emails demanding it cancel the panel, in particular due to the panelists’ connections to a small nonprofit known as the Society for Evidence Based Gender Medicine, or @SEGM_EBM.
This burgeoning deplatforming campaign raises questions about the place that the free exercise of scientific ideas has within a medical field as peerlessly politicized as pediatric gender medicine. As transgender activists seek to shut down what they argue are toxic fringe positions akin to climate-change deniers, a relatively small but determined collection of scientific and medical experts have remained committed to publicly scrutinizing this field and defending themselves against what they say are baseless accusations that their perspectives are rooted in bigotry and animus.

One of the most profound moral directives I've encountered is from Frank Serpico (which I discovered via @eigenrobot)
Serpico was a NYC detective who blew the whistle on police corruption in the 70's, after which he was shot in the face.
Sidney Lumet made a movie about him starring Al Pacino. As Pacino prepared for the role, he visited with Serpico and asked him why he stepped forward to fight this corruption despite the risks.
Serpico replied "if I didn't, who would I be when I listened to a piece of music?"
We are not worthy of appreciating beauty unless we are true. If we are false, we can't truly love something like a piece of music because our false nature poisons the beauty that comes to us.
Beauty needs to strike us. It needs to stab directly into our souls. If we have allowed the lies to compromise us, then the beauty cannot reach to the depths of who we are. If we are liars, then we can't love the tremendous beauty of the world.
Lies and corruption put our souls into a cage. A soul in a cage can never be true or free or good. We have to act on the truth. We have to let the music reach our hearts.

For over a decade, the HRC has published annual reports whipping up a moral panic about an "epidemic of v!0lence" against the trans community fueled by "white supremacy."
This narrative could not be more disconnected from reality.
Using court records, police statements, local news reports, and other public documentation, @dontshoothedata and I independently verified every case from 2015 through 2024.
We found that transgender h0m!cide rates are well below the general population rate (debunking the "epidemic" claim), and that most perpetrators were black, not white (debunking the "white supremacy" claim).

The NYT reported about how a male serial murderer of women was allowed into a women’s shelter in NYC despite the terror of the women forced to be confined with him. He went on to behead and dismember yet another woman weeks later. He is back in a women’s prison. The people working relentlessly to inflict male murderers and rapists onto women locked in prisons and shelters are zealots who think they are the best people in the world at the vanguard of humanity as they inflict danger and humiliation onto vulnerable women.
They are carrying out the will of center-Left political parties across the Western world. There has never been a cult this deranged with this much power in the post-Enlightenment world.
