Small website owners are getting bullied by foreign countries' censorship mandates, don't have access to lawyers who know this area well, and don't know how to handle it. This is why America needs a censorship shield law like the GRANITE Act.
Replying to @LivvyPersonals
This leaves small websites with a choice of either not servicing an entire state or region, or to shut down entirely due to fear of fines of not complying with age verification laws. This leaves the internet reserved for big tech companies who own or can afford the service.

BREAKING: The U.S. counteroffensive against foreign censorship is escalating. The New Hampshire GRANITE Act was filed today by @cantbesilentcal. This comes days after a federal GRANITE Act was introduced by @repmichaelrulli xitter.cf/cantbesilentcal/status…
Today I filed the New Hampshire GRANITE Act to make it clear that NH will not enforce, recognize, assist, support, or in any way allow foreign censorship in our borders. We will be the world's GRANITE fortress of free speech. 🌎🏔️🏰🗽🗣️

The First Amendment already gives Americans strong protection against foreign censorship orders being enforced. GRANITE goes further by dealing with the threat itself. A foreign regulator shouldn’t be able to email an American company, threaten fines or prison over protected speech, and then hide behind sovereign immunity if the American fights back. Under GRANITE, the American target can go to federal court and get that demand declared unenforceable.

🚨 BREAKING: The Sixth Circuit hands NetChoice a win against Tennessee's Digital ID law. The court vacates a lower court's denial of a preliminary injunction and sends the case back, ruling that the mere threat of enforcement can chill free speech. netchoice.org/netchoice-wins…

Valour has been criticized by those saying "if the law forces you to, you will comply". I want to be clear as the founder: I would rather cut off every state and country violating the rights of users than collect a single piece of personal information unnecessary to operate.

Federal GRANITE Act wen?
YouTube can’t stop this. They need the US State Dept & White House to step in and counter with threats to British interests in the US. Threaten you will hit Shell/BP in energy, AstraZeneca/GSK in pharma, BAE in defense, & HSBC/Barclays in finance the second the Brits hit YouTube

Google has exactly one data center in the UK. All it has to do is threaten to close it and pull out its personnel. That is the answer to foreign censorship, it is the only answer, and the longer Big Tech ignores the option the more cancerous foreign regulation will become.
YouTube is urging creators to respond to proposed UK rules that it says could force the platform to prioritize some channels over others The company warns the changes could limit channel growth and reduce how often creator content is recommended

I add. It would be a lot easier for the American big boys to refuse these demands and respond to foreign censorship laws with hamsters, if we had a shield law on the books in America, like a federal GRANITE Act, that protected our champions from foreign regulators.

I’m all for child safety.  I’m also all for parenting, supervising, and protecting kids – to include the two minors of my own.  This bill – HR 7757 - under the guise of “kids’ safety,” is just more government creating a vehicle for mass surveillance – ultimately leading to a digital surveillance state that leads to suppression of privacy, free speech, and punitive action against dissenting views - all under the guise of child safety. This is the first phase.  Pretty soon, everything you do will be tracked – and judged – by the government. All I hear about right now are complaints and concerns on this issue; my constituents are all for safety and protection; what they don’t support are large scale ID databases, Central Bank Digital Currency, data centers, warrantless surveillance, camera surveillance, kill switches in cars, etc.  There’s too much government in our lives and too many breaches into our privacy. BTW – check out the “UK Online Safety Act,” passed a year ago this month in Great Britain, aimed at “keeping children from accessing adult content.” Well, surprise:  the UK’s now using it for “age verification requirements” for adults (who must upload their ID / do a facial scan) to use any social media. Worse yet, now the UK is cracking down on any dissenting views; in this case, IT apparently doesn’t like citizens’ criticism about Islamic migration overwhelming the country. Yes, they imprison people for political dissent there…   Our government ultimately will be able to attack dissenters and quash dissent.  Goodbye, First Amendment.      I was a “NO” vote on this last night.

The KIDS Act is an open front-door to Big Tech and the Intelligence Community to further expand the global surveillance initiative. If the KIDS Act passes the Senate as it has the House, it is further proof the people are not the ones being represented in our government.
