Lloyd Austin found time for extremism stand-downs and DEI briefings.
He couldn’t find one day for voting.
@PeteHegseth fixed that.
Hegseth ordered a military voting stand-down day so troops can register, request their ballots, and help their families do the same.

DAN S. SULLIVAN (Registered Republican) Incumbent
teapawt.net/VeteranAction/status/2…
BREAKING: NYT reports that operatives with Democratic Alaska U.S. Senate candidate Mary Peltola’s campaign were behind the effort to find & recruit a candidate named Dan Sullivan to run against incumbent GOP Senator Dan S. Sullivan in an effort to confuse voters and peel votes from him.
Specifically, NYT says they have reviewed text messages and documents that reveal in summer 2025, a Peltola staffer received instructions from campaign staffers to find as many people named Dan Sullivan in Alaska as possible.
The staffer complied, going through voter records, and compiled a list. The operation “involved secret trips to far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative, who traversed the state using a fake name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs.”
Per NYT:
“The plan worked. This spring, a retired teacher from a tiny fishing village along the Alaska Panhandle, reachable only by air and sea, announced his candidacy for Senate. His name was Dan J. Sullivan.”

VFW and DAV, if you are confident in your position and facts, I am sure you would want a debate to highlight this important veteran issue before Congress returns for a vote. I hope you will accept the invitation.
Veteran Action Challenges VFW, DAV to Public Debate on the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act
VA MISSION Act architect Darin Selnick will debate any representative the bill’s opponents choose
The Take Care of America’s Veterans Act (TCAVA) combines 62 bipartisan veterans bills, including the Veterans’ ACCESS Act, the Major Richard Star Act and the Love Lives On Act, into a single package. The House is expected to vote on it in early November, after the midterm elections.
Ahead of that vote, a social media campaign by people affiliated with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans is telling veterans the bill takes away the benefits they receive now. Both organizations oppose the bill, warning that it reduces benefits for future disabled veterans. A public debate puts the facts in front of veterans before Congress decides.
Veteran Action is challenging the VFW and DAV to that debate. Darin Selnick, a Veteran Action senior adviser and the architect of the VA MISSION Act of 2018, represents Veteran Action. Each opponent may choose its own representative.
The opponents’ claims do not match the bill. Section 108 updates VA’s rating criteria for sleep apnea and tinnitus on future claims and leaves existing ratings in place. Yet the VFW and DAV are using Section 108 to intimidate lawmakers. VFW social media ads show veterans facing a firing squad of men in suits.
“The VFW and DAV have been caught blatantly lying about key facts of TCAVA, often in private meetings with lawmakers,” says Selnick. “If they believe the bill harms veterans, they can make that case in the open, across a table from me, with veterans watching. I will debate anyone they send.”
The terms are simple. The opponents pick their debaters. Veteran Action accepts any neutral moderator and any venue, on air or in person. The debate takes place before Congress votes on the bill. If the opponents decline, Selnick debates an empty chair and goes through the key elements of the bill one by one.
Selnick is an Air Force veteran. He served as veterans affairs adviser on the White House Domestic Policy Council and as senior adviser to two VA secretaries.
“Nobody understands veteran health care better than Darin Selnick,” says Mark Lucas, founder of Veteran Action. “He was the key architect behind the VA MISSION Act of 2018. We name our debater. The VFW and DAV can name theirs.”

Veteran Action Endorses Sen. Dan Sullivan, Launches Video Campaign on His Record for Veterans
Veteran Action endorses U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) for reelection and launches a new video campaign spotlighting his work on behalf of America's veterans. Sullivan served 30 years in the Marine Corps, including recalls to active duty, and retired as a colonel.
"Veteran Action endorses Dan Sullivan because he leads from the front on veterans policy," said Mark Lucas, founder and president of Veteran Action. "As a Marine, he never stopped serving."
Sullivan cosponsors the Veterans' ACCESS Act, which guarantees veterans can see a community care provider when the VA cannot deliver timely care. He also cosponsors the Veterans' Bill of Rights Act, which requires the Department of Veterans Affairs to clearly inform veterans of their rights to care, benefits, dignity and informed consent.
Voters in both parties back these bills. A national Honest Poll survey of 1,633 registered voters, commissioned by Veteran Action, finds 85% of voters support the Veterans' ACCESS Act and 83% support the Veterans' Bill of Rights Act. Support tops 80% among both Republicans and Democrats for each bill. Among veterans and service members, support reaches 86% for the ACCESS Act and 88% for the Bill of Rights Act.
The video urges viewers to call Sullivan's office at 202-224-3004 and thank him for his work for veterans.
