Picked this comparison of Germany versus Switzerland from another platform and a published author and economist Matthias Weik. One of the keys to it is Switzerland’s #DirectDemocracy Germany vs. Switzerland: 2.7 times the wealth—and only half the tax and social security burden on labor! Two neighboring countries. Two highly developed economies. And vast differences. Wealth: Median wealth per adult: Germany: $53,485 Switzerland: $145,555 This means the typical adult in Switzerland possesses about 2.7 times as much wealth as the typical adult in Germany. ⠀ Average wealth: Germany: $346,613 Switzerland: $910,382 More than 2.6 times as much! ⠀ Now, things get interesting. To what extent is labor burdened by taxes and social security contributions? The #OECD compares the total labor costs for a single, average-earning worker. Germany: 49.3% Switzerland: 23.0% The burden in Germany is more than twice as high! ⠀ In other words: Out of every 100 euros in labor costs in Germany, 49.30 euros go toward income tax and social security contributions (paid by both employees and employers). In Switzerland, that figure is 23 euros. Important note: This does not represent an individual’s personal tax rate; Swiss health insurance premiums are accounted for differently. ⠀ There is also a world of difference when it comes to #VAT (value-added tax). Germany: 19% Switzerland: 8.1% ⠀ And what about #nationaldebt? Germany: 58.4% of GDP Switzerland: 29.9% of GDP Germany’s national debt-to-GDP ratio is nearly twice as high. ⠀ Worth noting: Switzerland is a #highwage country. It has a strong currency. It is one of the most expensive countries in the world. And yet, the population possesses significantly more wealth. ⠀ Of course, not everything is directly comparable. Switzerland has a higher #costofliving, a different #healthinsurancesystem, and a differently structured pension system. Furthermore, wealth statistics are influenced by real estate prices, exchange rates, and pension assets. ⠀ But the crucial question remains: How does Switzerland manage to combine high incomes, substantial private wealth, and comparatively low national debt? While Germany—despite heavy tax and contribution burdens—grapples with an investment backlog, crumbling infrastructure, and emerging funding gaps? ⠀ Perhaps we should spend less time discussing how the state can generate more revenue, and more time focusing on how citizens and businesses can build wealth once again. ⠀ What does Switzerland do better in terms of economic policy? And why don’t we adopt more of its approach?

The missing link for good governments insisting that no government can be elected without majority support. The option "I VETO this election" should be on ballots. In FPTP, if a majority veto, then reruns until the majority are satisfied. In PR, % veto = same % empty seats.

To organise state to serve voters, you need to ensure no politician can be elected without majority support. That is the missing piece of the jigsaw. Minority support politicians are only incentivised to serve the minority that elected them, at most. Explanation below.
Die in den USA lehrende deutsche Ökonomin Isabella Weber glaubt zu wissen, wie man Rechtspopulisten aufhält. Sie will den Staat rigoros um die Bedürfnisse der Menschen herum organisieren. Link in X-Bio.

We must ditch lead, follow or get out of the way elections and let voters veto elections if they don't get good representation. In FPTP, if a majority of voters chose veto, it triggers a rerun In PR, the %veto = same % empty seats. This is voter-led politics, not party-driven

Voters still can't say no. This means they still can't say yes. We are just fuel for a system that can burn us up. Make voters sovereign with an option on the ballot to veto the election. In PR: %veto = same %empty seats. change.org/p/deliver-us-from…

Please don't forget to sign the petition! :) I see relatively fewer signatures to clicks on the link than normal. Is there anything that is making it difficult to sign? c.org/PygyJJRRz9

If you want a government that serves the majority, all MPs must be elected with majority support. Add a VETO option to the ballot that triggers a rerun if a majority of voters choose to VETO. Prevent minority rule and maximise the common good. Sign the petition to support:

The root of much evil is letting those who do not live with the consequences of their decisions make decisions that affect everyone. Put voters in charge with a ballot option stating, "I VETO this election." Reruns until majority of voters don't choose veto End evil.

Add an option on top of the ballot: I VETO this election. FPTP: if the majority of voters in a constituency choose it, then rerun (4-week intervals) until they no longer choose it. PR: % veto = same % empty seats. Otherwise, we get what we get now. End minority rule. Fix UK

Yes the only real democratic ballot would have a veto option.

PR's massive flaw is that it assigns 100% of seats even though a large number of people who want representation don't have it. Solution: provide voters with a veto option on the ballot; % veto = the same % of empty seats. Now, to keep or gain seats, voters come first.

youtu.be/tXebc6MhWVs?is=42Bt… Former boxer and all round cool guy - Terry Marsh - supports taking your ballot home as a protest. He gets it. Veto campaign is about formalising the sovereign position of the voter. Currently, we are just junior partners at best, even though we pay for everything and live with the consequences of decisions made by a minority. #terrymarsh #noneoftheabovex
