I think the only way to make fire emblem difficult is to obfuscate information Whether that be through reinforcements or fog of war, having all of the information at all times in a game where you functionally control every action that both armies take.-

I'm curious, do people enjoy fog of war in FE? Do people think it's a mechanic that engages one strategical mindset in a way that can justify it's existence? I'm curious because in the 17 or so years I've been playing FE I can't think of a reason for it to exist.

Alongside the status saves and flying enemy units and the very scary dragons who notably don't move very far makes for a very tense, and engaging chapter on a first play through that requires you to think about the game in different ways-

However, like most fire emblem chapters, when you have a better grasp of the game. It's pretty clear the obvious answer you were given is the obvious answer for a reason and Miledy just dog walks that whole chapter on her own. Removing a lot of the tension and intrigue
