Young people are not just participants in conversations about social change, they are driving it.
At the MenEngage Africa Learning & Exchange Symposium, Olusegun Medupin @OlusegunMedupin Deputy Executive Director, Programmes & Operations at YouthHubAfrica, will facilitate “LEVEL UP: Youth-Led Innovation to Shift Harmful Norms.”
The session will create space to explore how young people can use innovation, creativity and collective action to challenge harmful norms and contribute to lasting change.

The final panel at #MenSummit2026 focused on a critical issue affecting girls and communities across Nigeria: ending child marriage through collective action and systemic change.
The session, themed “Addressing Social Norms, Education, Policy and Collective Action in Ending Child Marriage,” explored how harmful social norms, gaps in education and weak policy implementation continue to enable child marriage.
Moderated by Gbemisola Joel-Osoba, the conversation featured Fatima Bello Aminu, Abbas Adamu and Dr. Yemisi Nathaniel.
The panel highlighted a crucial truth: ending child marriage is everyone’s responsibility.
Families, communities, policymakers, educators, CSOs and, importantly, men and boys must challenge harmful norms and create a future where every girl can learn, thrive, and determine her own future.
Gender justice demands more than awareness. It demands collective action.

Good intentions are not enough.
Our opening tea conversation at #MenSummit2026 with @TYchukwudozie, Executive Director of @EVA_Nigeria, challenged us to look beyond simply saying we support gender equality and ask what real allyship looks like in practice.
Real allyship means speaking up, challenging harmful norms, examining our own behaviours, and using our influence to create space for equality.
Because good intentions matter, but meaningful action matters more.

The room stood united as we took the National Anthem, a reminder of our shared identity, responsibility, and collective hope for a better Nigeria.
And as we begin #MenSummit2026, we carry that same spirit of unity into today’s conversations on gender justice and equality.

Panel Conversation 1: From Gatekeepers to Allies: The Role of Faith & Tradition in Gender Justice.
At #MenSummit2026, the first panel conversation explored how faith and traditional institutions can use their influence to advance gender justice.
Rev. Fr. George Ehusani's message was clear: “Be the Christian you claim to be.”
He stressed that anyone who violates vulnerable people- children, minors, etc is contradicting the values they profess.

The second panel at #MenSummit2026 is shifting the conversation from awareness to action.
Themed “From Bystanders to Active Allies: Engaging Men in Behavioural Change to End GBV,” the session explores what it takes for men to move beyond witnessing gender-based violence to actively challenging the behaviours and systems that allow it to persist.
Moderated by Andrea Kwen, the panel features Zed Izeduwa Derex-Briggs, Rahila Dauda, and Nafisa Atiku-Adejuwon, Policy Strategist.
A key message: being a bystander is not neutral when harm is taking place.
Ending GBV requires men to speak up, intervene, challenge harmful norms and take responsibility for creating safer, more equal spaces.
