We can already tell the statement the National Transportation SHAKEDOWN Authority (NTSA) will issue. No VW vans hidden in the thicket to capture speed here? Unfortunate loss of lives!
22 people killed and scores injured after a bus rammed onto a truck at Kanga along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

Excellent documentary. Demonstrable of how long we have to go in public order management as a country.

"We believe we can mitigate online harms without compromising fundamental rights and freedoms and we recognize that there is a critical gap in how these challenges are currently addressed. Grassroot networks, youth-led organizations, fact-checkers, community media, and digital rights defenders are often the first to identify emerging information and integrity risks, yet local evidence and community-led response mechanisms are rarely reflected in policy discussions." ~ @VictorNdede @FECoMo_Kenya @UnescoEast #PlatformGovernanceKE

'In this journey, we've had to hold a mirror up to ourselves, about how much data we hold. Despite processing very sensitive datasets, the nonprofit sector is the least equipped when it comes to data protection compliance. Most of the time, we expect accountability from the government, but we must hold ourselves accountable as well.' - @VictorNdede #DataProtectionKE #DataProtectionToolkit

We were pleased to meet with H.E. Henk Jan Bakker, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Kenya @NLinKenya, and hold a timely discussion on the human rights landscape and democratic governance in Kenya. As Kenya moves towards the 2027 elections, we underscored the importance of protecting civic space, upholding fundamental freedoms, and ensuring meaningful youth participation in public affairs and decision-making processes. We value the Netherlands Embassy's continued interest in human rights issues and look forward to strengthening partnerships that contribute to a more just, participatory, and democratic society. @VictorNdede @hakimorara

The worst part about the aviation workers go-slow is the silence from the Government of Kenya. No one seems to know anything. Airlines seem to be working with hope, passengers left to battle the anxiety of missing a business, emergency or family. We literally are sitting ducks.

Atrocious! Trading children’s right to privacy for sanitary towels? Right to dignity? None of these children will be happy years down the line seeing this video online.
I hope their parents have consented to this humiliation ritual.

Stream A of the #LSKAnnualConference2026 discussed how AI is transforming how law is practiced, from research and drafting to client service and decision-making. The question is no longer if AI will change the legal profession, but how fast we're ready to adapt. #Wakilis #BusinessUnusual #LegalPractice #AI #ElectoralJustice #ADR

Over 5000 people from 150 countries and 750 organizations and institutions were expected to attend RightsCon in Lusaka, Zambia from today until Friday. This would have been the first time that a country in Sub-Saharan Africa hosted the event. RightsCon is a bi-annual global conference that addresses urgent challenges on technology and human rights. But according to the organizers, foreign interference from China has now led to its postponement. This coercive pressure clearly indicates a growing pattern of Chinese authorities abusing their influence over governments to silence dissent and restrict open dialogue - particularly those of individuals that the Chinese state sees as a threat. This is censorship, and a direct attack on freedom of expression, association and peaceful assembly. State-driven intimidation must face consequences. Amnesty International strongly condemns any efforts by China to exert pressure and shut down public debate. We call on the Zambian government to transparently disclose the full reasoning behind the cancellation of RightsCon. All states must support the event organiser Access now in securing an alternative venue to ensure the conference takes place this year.

Mr. Victor Ndede, Head of Programmes at Amnesty International Kenya, highlighted concerns about the growing use of digitization as a tool for state interests and private-life surveillance, rather than a pathway for transparency and civic empowerment. He emphasized that this digital expansion risks encroaching on the personal liberties guaranteed by the Constitution. “Human rights are the basic foundation upon which a nation thrives,” he noted, urging a renewed commitment to the human-centric spirit of the 2010 Constitution, the core principle upon which it was established. #AKMCC #MootCourt #LegalExcellence #KUSchoolOfLaw
