Russell Brand mildly sexually harassed me at a party in 1999. It didn’t occur to me to report him, it was just part of the experience of a young woman working at the Edinburgh festivals in those days, he wasn’t even the worst. But anyone arguing that he’s not guilty is a mad cunt

The part of the Russell Brand reporting that I keep thinking about is where a taxi driver begs the girl he's driving not to go to his house. This ordinary powerless bloke who both knew and tried to stop it, while television executives covered for him.

We are paying a record tax burden to fund Ed Miliband and Andy Burnham to live the life of luxury in the Caribbean while millions of people can’t afford to eat, heat their houses or put fuel in their cars. The whole thing is a piss take at our expense.

In December 1992, 16-year-old Suzanne Capper was abducted in Manchester and subjected to seven days of horrific torture. When rescuers finally found her, she had suffered burns across approximately 80% of her body—and was still alive. Suzanne had no stable home and often stayed with different people. One place she had known was the home of Jean Powell, a 26-year-old woman who had babysat her when she was younger. But that house became the setting for a nightmare. On December 7, Powell and Bernadette McNeilly reportedly lured Suzanne there under the pretense of a party. Instead, she was seized and held captive. The group’s grievances reportedly involved a borrowed coat and accusations that Suzanne had given them pubic lice. Over the following week, Suzanne was beaten, abused, injected with drugs, and subjected to degrading acts of torture. She was restrained and left in agony. On December 14, her captors drove her to a remote area near Werneth Low, poured petrol over her, and set her on fire. They left, believing she was dead. But Suzanne was still alive. Despite her catastrophic injuries, she staggered nearly a quarter-mile toward a road. Passing motorists found her and called for help. One man later recalled being struck by how polite Suzanne was. Even while suffering unimaginable pain, she repeatedly thanked the woman who stayed with her while they waited for an ambulance. At the hospital, Suzanne identified those responsible. She died on December 18, 1992. In 1993, four people—including Jean Powell and Bernadette McNeilly—were convicted of her mu*der and sentenced to life imprisonment. Two others were convicted of false imprisonment. Suzanne was only 16. Her final moments were marked by extraordinary suffering, but also by a remarkable act of courage: even after everything she endured, she found the strength to reach the road and seek help. Her story remains a chilling reminder of the cruelty people can inflict—and of the desperate determination of a young girl who refused to give up.

Russell Brand was always a wrong’un. Yet the left worshipped him. Owen Jones said he would defeat the Tories. The New Statesman let him edit a whole issue. The BBC fawned over him. These desperate fools buffed up his ego, says Brendan O’Neill spiked-online.com/2026/11/05…

I don't want to shame any particular woman here, but publicly announcing that the #RussellBrand conviction must be wrong because you went home with him and he didn't rape you makes about as much sense as saying 'well, I left 25 Cromwell Street alive, so Fred West's innocent.'

Many Rapists get away with Rape, the Prosecutors did a good job in the Russell Brand case, but there are still many victims that never receive Legal Justice. Brand’ case was high profile which helped the Victims win in today’s verdict, but many Rapists are never bought to Justice

Not just Russell Brand's barrister. At the trial of the man who killed my beautiful daughter, Cassandra, his defence barrister repeatedly asked about Cassie's underwear and portrayed her as being promiscuous. She was dead. It seared itself into my consciousness and won't leave.
So now we can say the thing that we couldn't say before: that Russell Brand's barrister's arguments on his client's behalf were utterly disgraceful and seemed rooted in the misogynistic past

It was like watching a hungry seagull try to lecture on metaphysics. Despite her obvious lack of ability, Haigh still trotted out stock insults aimed at her opposite number. At one point she suggested that Alex Burghart shouldn't read out his questions, before reading out her answers (and not answering his questions). In fact, I got the sense that Burghart was being gentlemanly in his reticence to go in for the kill: had Labour put up an open can of sardines in the bottom of a barrel, it would have been a less obvious target than Haigh. But if anything, his stoic demeanour seemed to rile her further. Burghart's questions were mostly about benefits. He highlighted the fact that the bill was higher now than it had been even during Covid. Again and again Haigh – who yelled like an unlikeable landlady – insisted that the bill was coming down without explaining in any way how it would do so. ✍️ Madeline Grant Article | spectator.com/article/louise… | @Madz_Grant

“It’s an absolute disgrace. Let’s be honest. She was convicted in May of this year. She’ll be out in December of this year, having received a three-year sentence. How on earth can that be right? “She’ll be out for Christmas, and I won’t have Christmas with Henry.” Tap to read more from Mark Nowak, Henry's father ⤵️ telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/11…

Remembering Victoria Climbié 🙏🏾🤍 Victoria Climbié died in 2000 at the age of 8, following severe abuse by her guardians. Her death prompted a public inquiry, which led to significant reforms in child protection policies across England. Today would’ve been her 35th birthday.

We spent hours and hours in choreography and vocal rehearsals trying to perfect our ourselves. We were so thrilled to be on @nbcsnl. And after we were done, we were very pleased with our performance. Definitely an unforgettable moment for us! We had so much fun.
When En Vogue hit SNL in March 1992, they dismantled the myth that girl groups couldn’t sing full-throttle live in heels. Trading leads across Cindy, Dawn, Terry, and Maxine, their dynamic control remained untouchable—from Dawn’s raspy rock bite to Terry’s operatic belts. When they converged on the hook, their four-part harmonies locked in with their blend and zero backing tape. The album dropped 3 days later, proving to themselves and to the world just how Funky, these Divas really are.

The current wave of British 🇬🇧 MPs are just so bad and unintelligent. It’s beyond laughable. This is cringeworthy and embarrassing. 🙈
🤦‍♂️ Nick Ferrari can’t believe what he’s hearing from the clueless Border Security Minister this morning. Things got a bit awkward with Anna Turley and Nick Ferrari on LBC. Watch it for your own amusement. He’s asking what happened to the “tough cookie” after Shabana Mahmood watered down her own immigration reforms yesterday. He says the cookie’s crumbled, hasn’t it? Turley: “No, not at all. Shabana is one of the toughest people I’ve ever met in my life.” Nick reacts with absolute bewilderment: “Oh, do me a favour! Respectfully, Minister, please!” 😂 He asks her to detail that toughness she showed yesterday. Turley can’t, so instead she reels off the usual lines about immigration down 80%, small boat crossings down 40% and removals up by 50%. Nick cuts in and asks where the removals are actually going. “Which countries do they go to?” Turley: “They go back to countries we’ve got an agreement with, who will accept them.” Ferrari: “Such as?” Cue mass panic from the minister. She’s looking left, right and centre for the details while people scramble in the background for information. 😂 She properly panics, stutters and stammers, and still waiting for the info she blurts out “Albania”, the first country she can think of. Ferrari keeps her on the hook knowing she’s scrambling: “80,000 people have all gone back to Albania?” Turley proper squirming now, looking everywhere: “No, no, a whole range of other countries.” Ferrari: “What are the other countries then?” Turley: “They go back to their countries of origin.” Ferrari: “But what are those countries?” Turley fully grasping at straws at this point: “Erm, countries in Africa, countries around the world.” Glorious. 😂 She was all over the place and Nick knew it and played her like a fiddle. Car crash after car crash with this lot, but that was pretty funny to watch.

Henry Nowak’s family have said they were “manipulated in our darkest hour” by police after his murder. The 18-year-old’s family have said they felt “hoodwinked” by police in the immediate aftermath of his death and the weeks and months that followed. 🔗 telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/11…

Absolutely disgusting what the police did to Henry Nowak's family. @HantsPolice had the nerve to ask Nowak's parents what his & their political views were straight after telling them he had been murdered. And the IOPC thinks the police have no case to answer here? Despicable biased decision. How is anybody supposed to have faith in the police when they do this?

Britain is decaying. Walk down any ordinary high street and you’re looking at a country where local and national governments have stopped caring about civic pride - despite financially punishing local businesses with numerous tax increases. Boarded-up shops with peeling paint and graffiti tags. Vape shops everywhere. Boarded windows. Road signs covered in dirt. Weeds in the pavements. Road drains blocked. The litter is everywhere and it is getting worse. Keep Britain Tidy found only about one in ten places completely clear of rubbish. In the poorest areas it is three times worse. The roads are a national embarrassment. Roadworks that continue in certain places for 2 years. Potholes that destroy cars while local councils glibly talk about community strategies. This is what managed decline looks like when nobody in charge is willing to enforce basic civic standards, spend our taxes wisely or admit that Britain is decaying. Dirty streets, decaying towns and a quiet dismal acceptance that this is just how Britain is now. It isn’t acceptable. It was allowed to happen.

Late call to London 🥱 But it’s got to be done. I’m glad to have been asked to speak — not just for my son and the other victims of the Nottingham attacks, but to share our experience of the @policeconduct with families like the Nowaks and the wider public. I’m horrified they’re still rolling out Derrick Campbell as a spokesperson. I’ve been reading their ‘media offensive’ on the train. Formal complaints have been made about his conduct and communication, and he was removed from post into a different role. Yet still they use him. Utterly arrogant and absurd and pretty much sums them up… It’s time the light was properly shone on their murky world of cover-up, deflection and evasion. Live on @GMB tomorrow. Speaking the truth. Candour, transparency, nothing to hide.
