Long post worth the read. I have a close friend who flies private jets. He flew Lear 60 for over 15 years and now flies a Gulfstream. This is a copy and paste of his response to me asking him if I thought Ice was the issue. “We always fly in ridiculous cold temperatures.” “Usually you get the bad ice when the temperatures are like 0 to negative 20. Believe it or not, there's a point where it gets too cold for ice. At negative 40, you pretty much can't get ice. Besides that, the airplane is equipped with hot wings and hot tail.” “I flew the Lear 60 for like 15 years. It's a no joke airplane and probably the most dangerous airplane I've ever flown. It has a super critical wing. The airflow has to be perfect. When it gets into rough air and turbulence, it will easily stall. It has stalled on me at 41,000 feet just because we got into some turbulence. (On the way to Palm Beach as a matter of fact. ) we recovered and got her flying again around 30,000 ft. Scary But here's the problem. This airplane has a terrible coffin corner. (At high altitudes) what that means is, you fly in a really narrow window where if you lose 20 knots, it stalls. And if you gain 20 knots, it goes into overspeed. The air goes supersonic over the wing and it goes into a high speed stall, or worse, a Mach tuck. So if you stall, the normal recovery is to push the yoke forward to lower the nose and gain air speed again. At low altitude, you can push really hard and recover quickly. But in the 60... if you push hard, it will gain air speed and go into a high speed stall, it doesn't take much. It's very sensitive. The 60 has super short wings that don't make much lift. So then you high speed stall, and the computer is yelling at you... OVERSPEED! So then you pull back and enter a low speed stall. And you go back and forth trying to keep it in the air speed window. This whole thing is pretty scary. And you should recover basically by using your finger tips using super small corrections. You can't over do it. If you try to muscle the recovery, she gets mad and will become unrecoverable. If she enters a mach tuck. You're done.” “I taught the Lear 60 to other pilots and mentored them. I told them... this airplane has a soul and it's trying to kill you. Do not ever try to top the weather. Don't go over a thunderstorm. Go around it. If it means a half hour longer, then do it. Going over the thunderstorm will go into turbulence that you might not recover from. These pilots went right over a thunderstorm. I think it stalled which caused them to drop down into the thunderstorm and ended up in mach tuck. They picked up so much speed that it ripped off the horizontal stabilizer. At that point... chuck Yeager can't fix it. These same pilots did something similar a couple months ago. ATC got mad at them. They poked the bear one too many times. This is not a beginner airplane. The Gulfstream would never do this. It has HUGE margins of error and won't stall like that. But then again... it's got HUGE wings. It's a pussy cat. The Gulfstream is like driving a 4 wheeler. The Lear 60 is like riding a uni cycle.”

U.S. aircraft have conducted strikes against Iranian sites on Qeshm Island, while Iranian footage shows an engagement involving a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone. Washington has maintained a steady but relatively low-profile campaign of strikes against Iranian targets while continuing to deploy additional military assets to support a larger operation if authorized. There have already been an estimated 5-10 incidents involving U.S. and Iranian forces, ranging from tit-for-tat exchanges and defensive responses to direct skirmishes. Whether tensions escalate further following tomorrow’s U.S. midterm elections remains to be seen.

🔺As we approach the first anniversary of Henry Nowak’s death, his family speak out about police failures and their continuing fight for answers. Speaking in a ITV Tonight documentary tonight, the family state: - Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary initially suggested Henry had been the aggressor, rather than his killer, Vickrum Digwa. - They were told officers had immediately administered first aid, before police later acknowledged Henry had instead been handcuffed and arrested. - The police watchdog, the IOPC, told them in April that there were “no concerns identified” regarding officers’ actions that night. - They only saw the disturbing police bodycam footage of Henry’s arrest on the first day of Digwa’s trial. Henry’s stepmother, Katie Nowak:“I do feel that we have been failed multiple times.” Has anything changed at all since the Trial verdict?

'Devout Christian' Texas Dem @jamestalarico caught following more prostitutes - including a 'bisexual Latina cyberslut' - on Instagram 😏
California is trying to buy a Texas Senate seat. Talarico is getting 53% of his itemized money from outside the state. California alone dropped $7.8 million on him, more than Paxton raised from every other state combined. New York added $3 million. Massachusetts another $2.1 million. Paxton’s campaign is 73% Texas money. Talarico’s is a coastal donor operation. The left can’t win Texas on the merits, so they flooded the race with blue state cash instead. So no, nothing “grassroots” about him.

As a woman in politics who gets my fair share of online flak let me take a minute to address the Chlöe Swarbrick question. Why is National talking about her in this election campaign? The answer is simple: the Greens could play a powerful role in the next government and so their plans deserve serious scrutiny, because if they happen, Kiwis up and down the country will be worse off. On current polling, Labour has less than 30% of the vote and the Greens have over 15%. That means, if Labour wins, the Greens would have huge leverage in coalition negotiations. In other words, Labour cannot form a government without giving the Greens what they want, and Chlöe Swarbrick has made it very clear what their bottom line is: Finance Minister. Just this morning, when asked whether she wanted the role, she said “of course I do”. Chlöe Swarbrick has also been clear about what she would do in that role, and it spells trouble for New Zealand. The Greens want to impose significant new taxes on almost every aspect of the New Zealand economy. The Greens have published detailed plans for a range of new taxes - on assets, on inheritance, on incomes, businesses and more: nine new taxes in total. The Greens’ own policy manifesto says they will "structurally increase the tax base". Why does that matter to you? More taxes on hard-working people means less money in their pockets to spend on their families and their future. More taxes on businesses means fewer jobs and lower wages. More taxes would derail New Zealand's economic prospects: it would choke off investment, growth, business expansion and job creation right when the economy is recovering. The Greens also want to increase New Zealand's debt significantly - their fiscal plan sets out in black and white a plan for $26 billion in extra borrowing over the next few years. Why does that matter? Higher government borrowing pushes up interest rates for every Kiwi who takes out a mortgage or borrows from the bank. It puts pressure on inflation (and the price you pay for everything) and it leaves future generations with a painful bill to pay. I know many Kiwis are over the election campaign - you may be one of them. But this is serious stuff and it really matters for the future of our country, so National makes no apologies for giving Kiwis the information they need to make an informed decision. National has the long-term economic plan that New Zealand needs. A plan to manage the economy responsibly, bring down debt, create jobs and better wages, make sure there are no new taxes saddled on Kiwis, and invest in infrastructure and health services. I encourage you to read all about that plan at the link in my replies. New Zealand had a brush with a big-borrowing and big taxing government just three years ago under Labour. Inflation soared, debt exploded and it left massive scars in our economy. Kiwis are still feeling those scars today. National has worked hard over these past three years to repair the damage - but we need another term to see the plan through. The alternative is a return to a big-borrowing, big-taxing Labour-Green government that would derail the economy and the outlook for your job and livelihood. That's why Chlöe Swarbrick’s views matter: it's about you, your future and your vote. Your vote matters because it will decide our country's future. Stick with the plan and Party Vote National.
