"It’s very hard to cure it if you can’t measure it" Pagliuca said. Such a blatant understatement.
It's a crime that this has, quite deliberately, not been the most urgent research mission from the git.
NIH RECOVER & their bandits do not even bother to pretend to care about it.
Great to be featured last night on @WCVB along with amazing PolyBio funder & collaborator Steve Pagliuca. This after a viral illness.... Sounds like he's got LC.
Patriots RB TreVeyon Henderson said he was hospitalized for several days and tests have come back positive after he suffered “unexplained neurological symptoms” that remain “unknown and unexplainable.”

Patient Led's NIH RECOVER presentation today was a nauseating regurgitation of their completely batshit Lara Goxhaj article wherein they lobby for PEM to be the PRIMARY outcome measure in Long Covid trials.
Instead of something legitimately measurable and biomedically relevant that would lead to TREATMENTS for pwLC. You know, like BIOMARKERS.
This deviant mission would also serve to help exclude the vast majority of Long Covid patients from their own trials and to center the rare (even on trials shamelessly rigged to inflate such instances) "mECFs like" presentations of LC instead.
How To Further Destroy Long Covid Research by the corrupt puppets @patientled.
PatientLed pushes a PEM survey instead of BIOMARKERS for Long Covid clinical trials.
This could serve to exclude the vast majority of ppl with Long Covid from our own studies.
The paper is a rendering of baseless, self-serving, highly irresponsible, and flat-out dishonest rhetoric posing as advocacy.

Year 7? 8? Still zero treatments yet they make a career out of us. 🤮
Leading Long COVID scientists, government officials, and advocates met yesterday and today in Bethesda, Maryland for the third annual RECOVER-TLC workshop. Check out our full live blog with on-the-ground reporting from Betsy Ladyzhets: thesicktimes.org/2026/11/04/…

ALT A photo from today’s RECOVER-TLC meeting shows a photo of Ezra Spier, a man in a suit and N-95 speaking at a lectern. Overlaid text reads:“The Sick Times: RECOVER-TLC workshop day two: Early trial results on abrocitinib, emerging science, future priorities. By Editors. News. The next slides feature quotes and test from the story in orange and pink graphics.”

Covid does that
Matt Damon reveals his wife, Luciana, suffered a brain aneurysm and had surgery the week before the Oscars where "Oppenheimer" won best picture. The couple made it to an after party to celebrate.
“I remember I was shooting second unit for ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’ during that Oscars [where ‘The Departed’ won], so I didn’t go,” Damon told GQ. “I was living in Miami at the time, and I had an infant. [My wife] Lucy and I were laying in bed watching it and so nervous for Marty. And then when he won [best director], I was jumping up and down in the bedroom and I remember being really excited. And then the next category was best picture, and ‘The Departed’ won. And I realized in that moment I hadn’t even considered that could happen. And I turned to Lucy and I was like, ‘Sh*t, we should be there!’ And then the next few weeks, I got all these calls from all the cast and the studio, like, ‘Hey, where were you, man?’ I totally blew it.
The next time that that happened was on ‘Oppenheimer’ and we had this whole scary thing happen where my wife had a brain aneurysm. She’s totally fine, thank God, but [she] had this brain surgery the week before the Oscars. But it was the first night she felt good enough to get up and had her energy back. And she surprised me and got a dress and we went out to the after-party, because she remembered that the last time it happened, I didn’t do it. And she was like, ‘This time we’re going out.’ And it was pretty f*cking heroic of her to do that and really meaningful.” (via GQ)
