Ritalin was created in 1944 by a chemist. He gave some to his wife Rita who found it improved her tennis game, and he named it after her, ‘Rita-lin’. Later, researchers determined that it acts by blocking the reuptake of dopamine. Hence this great illustration by @GilCostaDesign.
