Thanks to an airborne instrument developed here at JPL, scientists detected a costly infection in cabernet sauvignon grapevines before they showed symptoms visible to the human eye. go.nasa.gov/47min9a
ALT A vineyard with a message written across the dirt walkway in between each crop is shown in an aerial photo. Along the top and bottom of the image, extending out into a long stretch of dirt right in the center, are vibrant green grapevines perfectly spaced out. In the center of the image is the message "Thank you NASA + JPL" etched deep into the dirt so that it can be seen clearly from the air. The ground along the center and peeking through the grape vines is a light brown color, with darker sports indicating it was driven over or plowed.
