Today's UK Budget hands Scotland an "extra £600m", decided in London. The £100 energy payment leans on council tax bands still based on 1991 valuations. Sovereignty would replace council tax with a Land Value Tax, piloted locally now. bbc.com/news/articles/ckq6nj…

Under Westminster's broken grid and energy market, households are charged through their bills to switch off power generated on our own doorstep. A sovereign Scotland would set its own energy market and use its power here for cheaper bills and local industry first.

Instead of waiting on unspent Treasury promises ahead of tomorrow's UK Budget, an independent Scotland outside both the UK and the EU would back our domestic oil, gas and industrial base

A new Norstat poll puts support for Scottish independence at 52%, with 47% backing a referendum within five years. Just as importantly, Professor John Curtice notes that only around half of Yes supporters back the SNP on the regional list.

Yes voters are looking for a genuine alternative. Real independence means full self-government—free from both Westminster and Brussels, not swapping one union for another. We believe in a Scotland that is sovereign, just and free!

Reports suggest Westminster could seek to rejoin the EU single market—accepting Brussels rules and free movement—through a UK party manifesto without a referendum.

Scotland shouldn't be pulled back under Brussels rules by a Westminster manifesto any more than it should be governed from London. Decisions on who governs Scotland belong to the people of Scotland. Only full independence outside both the UK and the EU puts Scotland in control.

The Prime Minister now says full EU membership, or the single market with free movement, could be up for discussion ahead of next month's UK-EU summit in Brussels. Whatever Westminster decides about Brussels, Scotland gets no separate say. That's the problem with both unions.

Sovereignty stands for the sovereignty of the Scottish people, independent of both the United Kingdom and the European Union. Swapping rule from London for rule from Brussels isn't independence. Our policy: sovereignty.scot/policy/ Source: bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8e3…
