Remembering Fleur Lombard today, 27 years after she lost her life fighting an arson fire. She was only 21 and was the first woman firefighter post war to be killed on duty. She was posthumously awarded the Queen’s Gallantry Medal. #NeverForgotten

(1/2) Today marks the 20th Anniversary of the devastating 2003 Canberra Bushfires which claimed the lives of 4 people and destroyed more than 500 homes.
The years and months that followed were a time of great loss for the Canberra community with impacts still felt to this day.
