Join us today as we honour the bravery and sacrifices of those who fought for our freedom. If possible, wear a poppy as a symbol of your support. Lest we forget their incredible courage and dedication. 🌺
ALT Slide 1: Title: "Remembrance day" "November 11th", there is a graphic of a poppy in the centre with a graphic of grass on the bottom of the page.
ALT Slide 2: Header reads "What is Remembrance day?" with the following content: "On the 11th day of the 11th month, in the 11th hour of 1918, World War I ended. This day became a day to remember all the battles and sacrifices that Canadians made to protect our Country. This day is very important to recognize, to avoid forgetting everything that the victims of the war suffered through. To show our support and memory on November 11th, we wear poppies."
ALT Slide 3: Header reads "Why do we wear poppies?" with the following content: "The Remembrance Poppy was inspired by the popular John McCrae poem “In Flanders Fields” written during WWI. The Poppies were originally sold for charity in France. The tradition was then introduced to their allies later, in 1921. Canadians have been wearing them ever since as a reminder, and in support of those who fought."
