A native of Peru, Jaime immigrated to the United States in 1987 and became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1994.

Jaime’s professional journey reflects the opportunities and challenges faced by many job seekers. He initially worked as a dishwasher despite holding a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Escuela Nacional de Marina Mercante in Lima.

Workforce Connections, Southern Nevada’s Local Workforce Development Board, and Credit Union 1 (CU1) have launched a new partnership, backed by a $30,000 donation from CU1 to help expand apprenticeship and on-the-job training opportunities while promoting financial wellness.

This week, Acting U.S. Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling visited the EmployNV Business Hub at the @lvchamber, the first American Job Center in the nation located inside a chamber of commerce.
Embedding workforce staff at the chamber makes it more convenient for employers to access the no-cost resources available through the public workforce system, like talent recruitment, on-the-job training and more.
