Fire at Canberra towers Southampton. We recently retro fitted sprinklers to this 24 storey housing block. Activating in the kitchen keeping the fire in check and under control so @Hants_fire could safely extinguish the fire on the 7th floor. Everything worked just as it should. – at Southampton, England

All new residential properties, including care homes, in Wales must be fitted with sprinklers. It's great that Wales #ThinkSprinkler but it would be even better if the rest of the UK did this too.

Sprinklers do not ‘false alarm’ – they will only operate if there is an actual fire. And the chances of sprinklers malfunctioning are 16 million to 1!

The money would have been far better spent sprinkler protecting all the Tower Blocks in question, the risk of fire will come from within and would be contained in a fully sprinkler protected building to “Property protection”
