The Carroll County Arts Council hosted its annual Instrument Tryout Day on Sat. Sept. 12. This event provides CCPS 4th grade students an opportunity to try out the instruments offered in CCPS elementary school music programs. Here are some future WES instrumental music students!
After our Music In The Parks performances each year, we display our awards in the school lobby to share with our community through the end of the year. After the last day of school, these students moved them to the band room to be permanently displayed. Thanks for a great year!
The WES 5th Grade Intermediate Band and Orchestra had a fantastic day in Music In The Parks at Hershey last Friday! Both ensembles received 1st place with ratings of "Superior" Congrats to all of our 5th grade performers!

On Jan. 17, Mr. Thompson had the pleasure of being the guest conductor of the middle school honor band at the 2026 Franklin-Fulton County Band Festival in Waynesboro, PA. The band consisted of 100+ students nominated by their teachers from Franklin and Fulton County schools.
Happy New Year! Before winter break, our 4th and 5th grade instrumental music ensembles performed in their winter concert at Winters Mill HS. Congrats to all performers for an excellent concert!
On Monday Night, the WHS Marching Band held it's annual Senior Recognition and Feeder School Night. Instrumental music students from the WHS feeder elementary and middle schools joined the band on the field for a special performance at the end of the evening.

The WES Intermediate Band and Orchestra performed in Music In The Parks in Hershey, PA on May 30. Both groups received 1st place in their divisions, with the orchestra receiving a rating of “Excellent” and the band receiving a rating of “Superior.” Congrats to all students!

4th grade teacher Mrs. Wiens was ready for her big crash cymbal solo! That is, until she ran off the stage! Did she come back and finish rehearsal? You can find out at our Spring concert next Thursday, May 22, 7:00 PM at Westminster High School.
Today was the first full band rehearsal of the Spring for our Beginning Band. This is the first time these students have performed music with everyone playing different parts.

Students at Westminster Elementary School were greeted by the 5th grade orchestra performing winter music in the school lobby during student arrival this morning.
The WES 5th Grade Intermediate Band and a small ensemble of 5th grade string students performed in front of the Carroll County Public Library in Westminster on Saturday afternoon as part of Downtown Westminster’s winter celebrations. Congrats to all who performed!
