The legal filing provides more than 450 pages of detailed allegations supported by evidence. Read the statement: bit.ly/3ozUhDi
Unethical actions taken by CBC @cbcmarkkelley, @HarveyCashore.and the Fifth Estate had real human costs.
From Robin Wiszowaty, Kenya Project Director for WE Charity:
“Decisions made by the CBC have needlessly jeopardized the future for thousands of women and children who have...
.. counted on the generosity of donors.
I personally invited @cbcmarkkelley and @HarveyCashore to Kenya to see the structures, meet the children, and learn from the communities about our development model.
WE Charity’s lawsuit against the CBC is supported by extensive evidence showing that the CBC knowingly or recklessly disregarded the truth in its reporting.
Below are some of the inaccurate and damaging claims made by the CBC.
WE Charity did not deceive its donors, as the CBC claimed based on interviews with 2 former donors.
Meanwhile, over 100 major donors told the CBC their reporting was wrong and that WE had clearly explained the funding model for Kenya projects. Their voices were ignored.
Filings show the CBC:
-misrepresented the contents of WE’s communications with donors
-edited quotes from documents to change their meanings
-reported allegations the documentary record shows the CBC knew were untrue, and
-concealed facts that were inconsistent with their story
The lawsuit asserts legal claims for defamation, breach of contract, promissory estoppel, and negligent misrepresentation by the CBC arising out of its publications and newsgathering conduct. Read the filing:bit.ly/35NoZSH

CBC posted an on-line article today which follows a pattern of inaccurate and incomplete information about WE Charity’s work in Kenya. This pattern of CBC misrepresenting the facts can be seen by watching this youtube.com/watch?v=q8kDbF0B…
WE Charity doesn’t simply build empty buildings. It provides education to thousands of children by also providing teacher training, school lunches, books, desks, community outreach and more. That costs more than a structure alone and may be supported by multiple donors.
