Thank you, Dr Tedros, for meeting with the WHO Philippines team during your visit to Manila. We valued the opportunity to share our work and discuss how we can continue advancing #HealthForAll in the Philippines. #ProudToBeWHO
A big thank you to our @WHOPhilippines team for the warm welcome this morning, but more importantly, for a candid discussion about the challenges they face in their work and where they need support most. Their commitment to serving the people of the #Philippines and delivering #HealthForAll is truly inspiring. #ProudToBeWHO

Flu season is here.
Around 75,000 cases of Influenza-like Illnesses (ILI) have been reported in the Philippines so far this year — slightly fewer than last year and still within the usual flu trend.
✅Cover coughs & sneezes with a bent elbow or a tissue; dispose of used tissue in a closed bin
✅Wash hands regularly
✅Stay home if you feel sick
✅Open windows when possible, to encourage airflow
✅Avoid touching eyes, nose & mouth
✅Avoid close contact with a sick person
✅If you’re experiencing mild flu symptoms & need to leave home, wear a mask
Help protect yourself & loved ones. #KeepFluAway and #StaySafe
This #WorldMentalHealthDay, we share the story of Jesus Emmanuel Sevilleja, an epidemiologist at the National Center for Mental Health Philippines, and one of more than 141,000 learners of the WHO QualityRights in Mental Health course. 💙
“The course reshaped the way I view mental health by grounding it in human rights, dignity, and recovery-oriented practice.”
The course helps health workers and communities build inclusive systems of care and challenges stigma in mental health. 🌍

Every 40 seconds, someone dies by suicide, but every conversation can be a chance to save a life. 💬
Pay attention to sudden changes in mood, behavior, or sleep. Notice when someone starts withdrawing or using substances more often.
These may be signs that they are struggling silently.
Check in. Ask how they are doing. Listen without judgment. Your concern could be the lifeline they need.
For journalist Tina Nolasco, reporting on suicide means more than telling the story. It means choosing words and details with care, recognizing the impact they can have on audiences and on people who may be struggling.
