Our free time, quality time & me/family-time was hard fought for by Salford’s Robert Lowes & others in 1843 winning workers the right to leisure time on Saturday afternoons.
Salford’s @WITWeekend celebrates our free time & progressive history on 15th & 16th June this year!👇🏻😎🥳
After a hugely successful launch year with over 60,000 visitors, We Invented the Weekend will once again hit @MediaCityUK and Salford Quays on 15 & 16 June with a programme of completely FREE events and activities to celebrate everything a weekend could be, packed into 48 hours!

We had an amazing time at @WITWeekend. So lovely to see so many people join us at our pop-up library, grab a book to read in our reading corner, or listen to our interactive storyime sessions.

🗣️ She says: "So many fantastic ideas were shared about the future of work. It's discussions like these that pave the way to better workplaces."
