Tom Skerritt, who played Reverend Maclean in the 1992 film “A River Runs Through It,” has died at 93. Three decades after filming in Montana, he returned to the Gallatin River to help document the threats facing the waters that had captivated him.
Skerritt also served on the board of American Rivers and supported river conservation efforts in Montana.
Rest in peace, Tom Skerritt. 1933–2026.

Today, a new era for maritime education and training begins as the TS Lone Star State, @texasmaritime's new training ship, arrived at its homeport at @AggiesByTheSea in Galveston, Texas.
The ship will not only expand the Texas A&M Maritime Academy's capacity to educate and train the next generation of maritime professionals, but it will also create new opportunities to advance the research, innovation and service that support the state and nation's coasts, waterways, maritime industries and communities.

It’s easy to understand why some people would push back against developing coastal land, but the truth is that SpaceX is a company that exists by superior virtues.
Before SpaceX, Boca Chica beach was littered with diapers, glass bottles and many things that were harmful to the wildlife. As soon as SpaceX came in, these things became non existent because they mitigated beach clean ups, donated, and ensured the protection of our beach and precious sea turtles.
Local wildlife rescue and conservation organizations were funded and volunteers became plentiful- and most importantly the wildlife at Starbase, Texas is thriving more so than before.
Many leaders and managers fall into the trap of the latest greatest “this is the answer” fad. But if structure and process aren’t well designed, they’re just tinkering around the edges.
