Halloween’s over. Let’s keep the recycling nightmares from becoming a sequel. Keep candy wrappers and flimsy plastics out of your recycling cart. 🎃

These ghosts are a real nightmare for recycling equipment. 👻
Plastic bags can wrap around sorting machinery, causing tangles and shutdowns. Help keep recycling moving: keep plastic bags OUT and recyclables loose in your cart.
What to do with all that cardboard? Make sure it's clean, dry and flattened before tossing it into your recycling cart. #RecycleRight

Hogwarts sorting hat! That's how @ZacksJerryRig describes the WM recycling process. Turns out the real magic is in how WM uses technology to improve recycling and make more material available for new products. No wand required! Watch more at bit.ly/3V7MNuq.
Give your trash a roof over its head! Open garbage lids attract wildlife and can spread pollution. Plus, when paper or cardboard get wet, they can no longer be recycled.
Keep your lids closed to reduce contamination, curb pest problems and keep it clean in British Columbia.
Grilling this summer? Remember coals can stay hot enough to start a fire days after the cookout. Have a safe, fun BBQ by letting ashes and coals cool for several days in the grill or fireplace. Then transfer to a box or metal bucket, wet them down and put them in your garbage cart. Never put them in recycling or yard debris carts.
After fireworks light up the sky, they can stay hot and even reignite. Dispose of them safely! Soak used fireworks in a bucket of water for 15 minutes. Drain on gravel or grass, not a sink or drain, wrap in an old plastic bag and put in the garbage cart — never in the recycling or yard waste cart.
Little waves, big smiles. Our drivers feel every bit of appreciation from our customers. Let's celebrate them this Recycling and Garbage Driver Day! 👏 Give it up for all the WM drivers making days brighter and servicing communities with a smile. #WMFanOfTheWeek
WM drivers are trained to be eyes and ears for community safety. Sometimes, they’re also guardian angels. For #WasteRecyclingWorkersWeek, we're saluting driver Taiwo Payton. When a serious collision overturned a car and trapped the driver, Taiwo contacted emergency services and stayed with the injured driver until help arrived. Way to go, Taiwo!

Seeing the joy in this young recycler may be one of the few things that could make your #Halloween sweeter. 🎃 The day started on a high note when Henry saw the shiny green WM truck in front of his house. Our drivers love bringing smiles to community members along their routes!
