We're saddened that any MS or party in Wales can say that the rights of women and girls do not align with their values.

Cross party working is "how grownups get things done".
WRN Wales totally agree with you @akuareindorf.
Something you might think about here is nuance. It's possible to agree with someone about some things and not others. Eg I'm not a Tory, but I agree with the @CforWomenUK account about sex and gender. This is how grownups get things done. It's also how democracy works.

๐ฃ NEW CAMPAIGN! ๐ฃ
Introducing the Womenโs Rights Network Red Flag Campaign: Retail
Millions of women and girls are being put at risk of sexual crimes in mixed-sex changing rooms. Our new Red Flag Campaign Retail focuses on the safety of women and girls in high street stores and supermarkets.
Mixed-sex changing rooms attract sexual predators looking for easy access to women and girls in a state of undress. Our research in Leisure Centres found that 86-100% of sexual crimes in leisure centre changing rooms occurred in mixed-sex facilities. (Our leisure centre research is published on our website.)
Now we are turning our attention to the dangers of high street changing rooms.
๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ Women and girls are experiencing voyeurism, illicit photography, even sexual assault, because retailers have abandoned single-sex changing rooms in favour of โinclusiveโ mixed-sex changing facilities.
Retailers have a duty of care to their customers and we say denying women the privacy, dignity and safety of a single-sex changing room is a dereliction of their duty to keep us safe on their premises. 1/3

Oh what a surprise ...
Dr Beth Upton - the male doctor at the centre of nurse Sandie Peggieโs tribunal case over using a female changing room at NHS Fife - isn't exactly keeping a low profile after his move to Australia.
The Scottish Mail on Sunday reports that Upton - now known as Lis - reportedly became involved in an incident at Port Macquarie Base Hospital ...
After a female patient declined treatment from him and requested a female doctor.

This #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, WRN Wales is encouraging every woman to put her health first.
In Wales alone, around 2,600 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. But early detection makes all the difference: when found at Stage 1, survival rates are over 98%.
Know your body. Touch, look, and check regularly.
If you notice any changes, don't wait - book a visit with your GP.

"Our priority is to ensure that the law is applied correctly across all Welsh services".
Diolch @Sioned_W - your public commitment to this is noted.
You and other @Plaid_Cymru Ministers (and all Senedd parties) have an excellent opportunity to ensure that commitment has actual substance by attending our next Cross Party Group on Women's and Girls' Rights . We have an expert legal speaker to assist you!
Diolch @Art93229Art for your question (and for caring about vulnerable female prisoners).
Diolch to @DarrenMillarMS for remembering that women in prison really are amongst the most vulnerable in our society, and for recognising that they have rights to dignity, privacy and safety in a single sex environment.
If you're going to talk about a "trauma informed" approach to women in the criminal justice system @Sioned_W, you need to recognise that, for many of them, that trauma was caused by men.
And no man is ever a 'woman'.
No men in women's prisons.
Should biological men be held in women's prisons? @DarrenMillarMS demands answers from the Deputy First Minister.
We are heartbroken in WRN Wales at the death of Claire. We send our sympathies to her family and her many friends.
Claire is irreplaceable. Her contribution has been immense. A brilliant mind, a superb campaigner, sharp and analytical, but above all, a wonderful friend.
She is pictured here outside the Senedd, after giving evidence at the Stage 1 Reform Committee on the Electoral Candidates Lists Bill. She said Welsh Government had no legislative competence to do this and that the Bill was discriminatory. She was right. (She always was though).
Her brilliant blog is here: womensrights.network/post/seโฆ
RIP Claire. ๐
ANNOUNCEMENT
Itโs with heavy hearts that WRN announce the death of one of our own, the truly fabulous Claire Loneragan.
Claire was a fundamental part of WRN since its inception and had been key to the growth and the success of our organisation. She is irreplaceable as a WRNer and as a Director. Most importantly though, as a dear friend. We will miss her immensely.
We know that all our WRN members will feel her loss deeply, not least her โhomeโ group of Somerset and Dorset.
We send our sincere heartfelt sympathies to her husband Dave, her children, her wider family, and her many friends.
Claire had been ill for some time but maintained her typical good humour, courage (and not a small amount of ice cream) throughout.
When we have needed wisdom, hard work and application, Claire had provided these in abundance. Her hand was in everything that we did. And we all endeavoured to โBe More Claireโ as a result.
But more importantly than that, she was always our dear friend.
Goodbye Claire.
We love you so much xx
Not so safe a space
GDASS says it creates โsafe spaces where victims are comfortable to ask for supportโ, but its poster in a womenโs changing room at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital says otherwise.
Women make up 95% of victims accessing specialist high-risk abuse services in England & Wales, and their abusers are overwhelmingly men. For these already vulnerable women, a safe space means a single-sex space, and a charity that wonโt hold that line isnโt offering one.
Entirely inappropriate that this poster greets women attending breast screening appointments @gloshospitals; please do your female patients the courtesy of removing it.

I was in tears yesterday talking to Leonard Moss. He was a 22โyear-old nurse who offered to help when a tip fell on a school in Aberfan killing 116 children.
Leonard washed the childrenโs faces โso their mum and dad could give them a kiss goodbyeโ. Heartbreaking.
Aberfan was a man-made disaster. Coal production mattered more than safety. The National Coal Board gambled with childrenโs lives - and lost.
There were no criminal prosecutions. Zero accountability for killing 116 mixed infants - we see the same incompetence and villainy still thriving today in the Post Office scandal, rape gangs, infected blood, maternity deaths, Nottingham murders.
Many in the village had survivorโs guilt - only the guilty men didnโt suffer guilt.
Ordinary men and women, despised and treated appallingly by the state - ยฃ50 compensation per child? - were responsible for many acts of quiet heroism on that darkest of days.
Read about it here. ๐

Eleanor Barnfield was doing her job. She should have come home.
She was a mother of two who went to work on Monday and never returned.
Every woman has the right to feel safe at work. Employers, housing providers, and public bodies must ask hard questions about how to better protect staff, especially women working in community settings.
Our thoughts are with Eleanorโs family. ๐

We're loving this piece! Plus our own Ceri is quoted on the offensive and misogynistic wording of health boards:
โWe all know that however a woman chooses to identify, she does so in a female body and its the exact same body that gets pregnant, has periods, and attends screening. For a health board to erase that uniquely female experience is offensive and absurd".

We provide the secretariat for the Senedd CPG on Women's Rights jointly with @WRNWales, so won't comment in detail on this story. We want the group to be a success and its purpose aligns with statements made by @PrifWeinidog and @Plaid_Cymru Ministers in the Siambr. We are sad that Safa Elhassan has left and surprised and disappointed that the quote the party apparently provided on her behalf implies that there is something wrong with our values. Why are sports such as Wales Netball asking children as young as seven years old to state their sexual orientation when applying for membership?
@mimsdavies MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Wales, has raised our concerns about sports overreach in her column for @WalesOnline. Underage children must not be asked questions like this simply to join a sports governing body. We will be taking this up with Wales Netball, we are interested to find out why they want to know if seven-year-olds are bisexual or heterosexualโฆ ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
walesonline.co.uk/news/politโฆ
SHOCKING: Wales Netball is asking children in the 7โ11 age band to declare if they are gay, bisexual, or heterosexual.
When parents sign their girls up to play netball, they expect safety and sportsmanship - not questions about self-identity and sexual orientation. One concerned mum told us exactly what happened when she tried to sign her 11-year-old daughter up for Wales Netball.
WRN Wales independently tested the same application process today and can confirm both questions appear as described. ๐งต๐ 1/4
"We as a government are committed to act in accordance with the law and expect all public bodies to act in accordance with the law".
Well there you go health boards of Wales. What's stopping you? @Heledd_Plaid is telling you to pull your socks up and amend any unlawful policies that you still have. Women's rights are protected in law and men should not be in women's wards or women's single sex spaces at all.
We keep hearing that health boards are waiting for guidance from @WelshGovernment. Yet Welsh Government have amended their own policies 'on the quiet', and are making clear their expectation, while health boards are still exposed to financial and legal risk while they endlessly 'wait'.

NHS England has FINALLY banned biological males from womenโs spaces, following the Supreme Court ruling that โsex means biological sexโ.
I asked the Welsh Government for an urgent statement reassuring us that NHS Wales will soon follow suit, because women and girls in Wales have waited far too long for these basic protections.
