While staying at a remote spot I had use of only a TRX, pullup station and a 28kg & 40kg KB.
I had some of the best workouts of my life.

Our alternative Budget: £150bn a year of lower spending at full value, and £97bn of tax cuts that wait for it.
A £15,000 personal allowance, a £60,000 higher-rate threshold, no inheritance tax or stamp duty.
None starts until the OBR forecast shows the saving that pays for it.

Receiving a letter like this should be a cue to leave immediately. A voracious state is sizing up everything you have, with the intention of punitively snatching it if you dare to try and escape their clutches. Sinister stuff.
HMRC has quietly sent hundreds of letters to wealthy people asking them to reveal what they own. Not what they earn or what tax they've paid, but what they own.
Here's what's going on. A unit called the Wealthy Team covers anyone with "incomes of £200,000 or more, or assets equal to or above £2m in any of the last three years". That's about 850,000 people. The letters ask for a meeting to discuss "sources of wealth", "future intentions", trusts, companies, family arrangements and even "significant life events" you expect in the coming years.
It is presented as voluntary, but there's a nudge: "We may still need to carry out compliance checks on your tax returns. However, speaking with you first may help avoid this."
Until now, inspectors have usually only asked about income and earnings. Experts call this a "sea change". One lawyer asked the obvious question: "does HMRC have a right to know what someone owns and not simply that they have paid the right amount of tax?" A tax adviser said: "No other G20 country asks for this level of detail from its taxpayers about what they own."
So what is it for? Advisers suspect it is groundwork for an exit tax, a charge on your wealth for leaving the country. As one put it: "Building that knowledge could indeed be part of moving towards an exit tax."
You don't have to be a billionaire to see the problem.

The Haltere Swing - A great way to hammer hinge pattern at high speeds. Upside is you don’t have buy a single very heavy kettlebell. It hits the hamstrings harder than conventional KB swing. Grip & lat engagement are also challenged.

Man is not merely a tenant on this earth. He was designed to perceive the gods--that is, to be a privileged observer of divine things.
So says the Stoic speaker in the new translation of Cicero's "On the Nature of the Gods" (II.56) (amzn.to/3PIFtQD)
The gap between the PGA Tour, the DP World Tour and the Hotel Planner Tour is real, but it is narrower than most players and coaches talk about. A couple of miles per hour at the top end is still meaningful over a season, yet it is not a different sport like longdrive.
What the numbers do not show is how those speeds are produced. The players who sit at the higher end of each tour are not simply the ones with the prettiest swing. They are the ones who can produce more force, and produce it faster, while still controlling the club through impact. Rate of force development and peak force capacity explain more of the remaining difference than another technical adjustment to the takeaway or the transition.
This is why pure swing-change programmes often stall once a player is already on tour. The technical ceiling is high on all three tours. The physical ceiling is still movable. A player who can raise their ability to load and unload the ground without losing sequence will close more of that gap than one who spends the same time chasing a new feel. The work that transfers is the work that improves the qualities the swing already has to use.
The practical implication is simple. If you are already technically competent and still short of the speed you need, the next gains are more likely to come from getting stronger and more powerful in the positions that matter than from another round of swing thoughts. The tours are closer than they look. The difference is still made by the players who can produce force.
We need politics to return to vicious personal satire, routine physical duels between politicians, and extreme parliamentary hostility.

I’m sure one of those tortures in hell is to be stuck behind a slow walking person for eternity.
As an aside, IQ strongly correlates with walking speed.
The correlation is, like, extremely significant. There are essentially zero outliers.
Top quintile walkers are a full standard deviation smarter than bottom quintile walkers.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
A 2019 Dunedin study reports moderate correlation (β=0.38) between midlife IQ and gait speed with ~16-point mean quintile difference. "Essentially zero outliers" does not match this association's strength.

One of the reasons I enjoy working in golf is its meritocratic nature, fields for DP & HTP will be busy next year. Those on the fringes risk being elbowed out.
Seeing others speculate on the topic, I had to throw my hat into the ring. I couldn't help myself.
