ALT The party was complete sensory overload. A spacious first floor and a loft-style second floor all full of people I didn’t know. Loud music by bands I had never heard of blared over the sound of a dozen conversations. The music was the perfect embodiment of the party. It faded in and out as if it kept dipping underwater. I could swear it got stuck at one point; the same thing repeating over and over. The perfect background music for my social purgatory. I spent my time looking around for Eudora or standing awkwardly beside one of the four-ish people I knew engaged in conversation with people I’d never met.
