The real vote splitting in this election was between the Green Party and people not bothering to vote at all.
Still a few more votes to count, so it’s possible this could change, but currently Conservatives are down 5% votes from 2024, NDP are down 29% votes from 2024 and Greens are up 13% votes from 2024.
This wasn’t a Conservative surge. People just didn’t want to vote for Eby’s NDP.
I’m really entertained BC Conservatives are claiming that affordable childcare should go to those in need, while those with money should be willing to spend a bit more.
Meanwhile their actual policy will be handing everyone $1,000 and wishing them luck, Hunger Games style.
What BC really can’t afford is more terrible NDP ads.
We know everything has a cost. Affordable childcare cost millions, but keeps more parents in the workforce.
The Conservative non-plan has a cost too. Show the harm of the alternative. Not just scary numbers and smarmy music.
I don’t see why people are mad at Nintendo when they clearly created the Direct as a trauma response.
Because they’re fancy tech demos and terrible content.
When hundreds of people work on a film, every person helps shape that movie. For these AI films, every element just feels worse than a real film.
No matter how impressive the tech, nobody is going to pick the worse option.
I love Pixar, but people need to understand they lost money on 8 out of their last 10 films.
Even Hoppers, while great, had a $500 million box office break-even point and only made $389 million.
The right math is:
(Box Office / 2) - production - marketing. Hoppers lost money.
As someone who voted for Don Davies in spite of his party in the last election, I find this really funny. I don’t particularly want my vote for him locked to the NDP that ran last election.
What’s being left out is that the entire population wants to die after being subject to repeated cruel and deadly button experiments.
If every person can be assigned the same probability of pressing red, what percentage should it be to maximize the relief of death?
Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?
42%Red
58%Blue
98,539 votes • Final resultsI always hate this problem because the answers change depending on assumptions.
1. Is everyone pressing the button mentally capable and can make the decision without error?
2. Does everyone want to live?
Without those two details, you can’t treat it as an optimization problem.

Reading literacy is so dead w people saying cancelled ‘might’ be about blake lively. Girl was the face of Gucci, did the flower movie and had her own brand of sours. Might as well name drop come on now
GPT-5 Thinking still struggles with impossible problems. Rather than acknowledging limits, the model will hallucinate to solve it.
This example is silly, but it's a problem for corporate use, where someone may not know if something is possible.

@GaryMarcus Found my favourite Chat GPT-5 Thinking fail so far. It’s hilarious.
