Our local #Boston restaurants are always there for us, supporting our youth sports programs, neighborhood causes and charities. Let’s continue to be there for them by ordering takeout or delivery this weekend. Plenty of great options in D2! #Southie #SouthEnd #Chinatown

I went to the grocery store this afternoon. As I was walking in I heard a woman yell to me from her car. I walked over and found an elderly woman and her husband. She cracked her window open a bit more, and explained to me nearly in tears that they are afraid to go in the store.

Can’t believe this just happened. I had the opportunity to share my story on @cnn with @brikeilarcnn earlier today. What an absolute honor.

The 2020 @Bostonmarathon is postponed until September 14, 2020.
My top priority is to make sure all @CityofBoston residents and visitors are healthy and safe from the #coronavirus. Thank you, @MassGovernor, @BAA, @johnhancockusa for all your support.

The Marathon plays a major role for local charities and the local economy. Our hope is that fundraising will remain strong, and our plan is to make the weekend of 9/14 a cornerstone in a campaign to help local businesses recover.

I want to discourage anyone from running the course on April 20. The roads will not be closed and first-responders will be pulled away.
You have the chance to run in a historic, once-in-a-lifetime race in September and I hope everyone will embrace that.

We’ve shown before, that no matter the challenge, to our Marathon or to our city, we are #BostonStrong. And that’s what we will be again this year, in the face of this crisis and on Marathon Monday.

#Coronavirus testing must be made free to the public if we are going to understand the scope of this crisis.
Anything less will undermine America’s effort to protect our communities and save lives.
