Parts of northwest Alaska could see 6–18 inches of snow this week.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Red Dog Mine and the south slopes of the western Brooks Range through 4 PM AKDT Thursday. Mostly rain is expected below 800 feet, while blowing snow could reduce visibility.
This WeatherWise view pairs the RRFS total-snowfall layer with the warning outline. The 12Z run displays the modeled snowfall pattern through Friday, October 30th. Model guidance can change; the 6–18-inch range is the official warning forecast for the warned area.
