Binance lost over $6 billion today, the biggest crypto hack ever, bigger than Bybit. a few weeks ago, a reseller sold tampered hardware wallets and users got drained. when i bought my first hardware wallet, my dad asked me: what’s the guarantee it’s safe? who knows where it’s coming from? what’s the guarantee this piece isn’t bugged? i told him millions of people use it, how can it not be safe. but now i remember that whenever my dad questions something, it either turns out to be true or there’s a reason behind it. and the reason is real. a normal hardware wallet is only as safe as its seed phrase. whoever gets those 12 or 24 words owns the wallet. and they rarely leak through big hacks. they leak through a gallery photo, a cloud note, a fake support DM, or a device that was tampered with before it reached you. then @Tangem sent me their wallet. my dad looked at the card and didn’t ask anything this time. he just said ‘how would anyone even bug this? it looks like a debit card.’ and you can carry it anywhere without worrying about breaking it. that’s kinda true as well. i watched a durability test where the tangem card went into dry ice at -78°C, boiling water at around 100°C and a hydraulic press at about 1,700 psi. it still worked with the phone after every round. officially it’s rated IP69K waterproof, with a 25-year warranty.
