Really good issue of the Weekly Worker, specially the articles on the fight for a programatically united mass party in Ireland and the US.

Well it's not just about a majority, is it? Capitalists rule as a minority, that's part of the deal. How do you plan to disarm the state? Without an answer to that question, there is *no* movement large enough
*We will win when a democratic socialist movement builds a large enough majoritarian coalition to democratize the state, socialize production, and ensure basic needs as social rights.

I think it’s bad to be a socialist elected and lie to people about how Obama ‘delivered’. How is this controversial. Are we in the business of attempting to change peoples’ worldview and consciousness or not
Some ppl mad that Zohran spoke warmly of Obama. The collective left from Obama haters to Obama critical to Obama likers who have big issues with some of his specific policies/decisions has spent 10 years trying to address this. People still intensely love Obama. You lost, move on

Geese discovering the @Weekly_Worker formula of open reporting on the left wins eyeballs even if it gets everyone mad at you
A major split is shaking the Party for Socialism and Liberation. After years in the PSL leadership, Walter Smolarek has resigned and published a devastating tell-all letter alleging internal authoritarianism, sabotage of local organizing efforts, and even the development of an AI-powered system to monitor members. More than an exposé, his letter argues the PSL's entire political model has reached a dead end. The question Gigi G. poses is: can they break the cycle of splits, or are they destined to forever be just another microparty? READ: geesemag.com/articles/psls-t…

Genuinely why am I supposed to care about MPs doing a manual trade beforehand? It doesn’t matter. It’s bad if they didn’t work outside of politics beforehand, but why manual? That’s just not where the working class is anymore
In 1906, 29 Labour MPs were elected. Among them were: 2 engineers 3 miners 2 shipwrights 1 shoemaker 1 cooper 2 textile workers 2 gas workers 2 railwaymen 3 compositors 1 steel smelter 1 journalist 1 iron moulder What proportion of Labour MPs today are from manual trades? 1/2

The whole country knows it: Keir Starmer is a barefaced liar.

I had to deal with Webbe in the standing orders room at YP conference. I don’t mean this in an uncomradely or mean way but, to be bluntly honest, I was struck by her lack of competence and basic understanding - especially for a former MP. So this is no surprise to me.

Reject the Your Party witch-hunt of socialists - Counterfire statement 🧵 Leaked documents suggest that @thisisyourparty CEC will, this weekend, discuss and (given the inbuilt majority for The Many faction) pass a motion that effectively witch-hunts socialists inside YP

Good take, honestly. This was evident on the campaign trail: members already active in proto-branches were massively supportive of GL overall. But this sentiment obviously wasn't shared across the wider membership, and TM's push to boost turnout paid off as a result.
My instant analysis of @thisisyourparty's CEC results: the triumphant @jeremycorbyn camp needs the @zarahsultana camp more than it thinks. There's no public profile without Corbyn, but no national movement without the grassroots, of which Sultana has become the voice.
