That's a wrap! We had dedicated fans travel from all over to join us at Rochester, MN, for JagFest 2026. They hailed from California, Oregon, Missouri, Texas, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia -- and even Canada! We had five Jaguars connected for Aircars and Battlesphere, two Jaguars for Doom, and seven Lynxes for Slime World! Plus four players on Warlords and QuadraPong. New games were teased or demoed for Lynx, Jaguar, and Nuon. More details on that coming soon. 😉 Thank you to everyone who attended in person or supported the online event. Such an amazing community of diehard fans, and I can't tell you how honored I am that you traveled all this way for a tiny gathering of retrogaming fans. You made this event great!

I've been doing this retro publishing for a long time. Since 1999. Even 1998, if you count when I took pre-orders for a little Lynx sound gizmo entitled SFX! I've gone through multiple PCB styles, and sometime I should dig up photos of all the iterations over the years. But not right now. Today, I was going through my inventory, and pulled out the last couple copies of SFX from my first (and only) factory run of Lynx cartridges back in 2018. Prior to that, each cartridge was assembled by hand by a friend of mine, and we frequently ran out of inventory. I pre-committed to specific quantities of games for the factory build, in order to keep them in stock. As you can see, I ordered 50 pieces of SFX in 2018. It's taken me this long to sell through them, and I still have a few left! The way you can tell if a Songbird cartridge came from the factory run is if it has the curved lip shell but also a green circuit board. After this factory run, including any games Songbird published in the past 7+ years, I switched to a black PCBA which I glue into the shell by hand and program by hand. I only have four games in inventory at this point that still have pieces left from that factory run. It was a great experience, and has helped me keep older Songbird games in stock over the years. And now with my current releases, I can build them "just in time" to meet demand. So a win-win in my book. 😎

Did you know? The classic ST shooter Wings of Death was ported to the #AtariJaguar by the original developer, Eclipse Software. In fact, Marc started the port in the 1990s but Atari wasn't interested. Marc revisited the project a couple years ago, and in Oct 2025 it was finally published by Songbird. Wings features numerous improvements, including stable 60 fps, enhanced colors, CD soundtrack support, new difficulty modes, and more. Cover art for the original Protector release, dating all the way back to 1999 (although I believe Protector was technically released in early 2000). Art was made by a college art student who needed a couple of 3D projects to work on for a class. He also did the art for Hyper Force. He was super-easy to work with, and I was quite happy with both covers he provided.
