NEW: State Department denies that Secretary of State Marco Rubio is preparing to resign from Trump's cabinet to launch a bid for the 2028 presidential nomination.
Assistant Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs @ASDylanJohnson says The Independent's report is "completely baseless fake news."
The Independent reported that insiders say Rubio needs to "distance" himself from the Iran war if he wants to have a chance in 2028.
"This is completely baseless fake news from made-up anonymous 'sources,'" Johnson said.

Sir Patrick Stewart's first TV appearance as a fireman in Coronation Street (1967)
R.I.P. to the great Patrick Stewart. He had a natural sense of authority onscreen that contributed to him playing leaders and paternalistic figures. I grew up watching The Next Generation on Sky One as a wee lad so he will always be Jean-Luc Picard to me.
Here is an excellent scene of Stewart in Star Trek where he loses his usual unflappable cool. What an actor.

OBAMA: The president wasn't even mad. About The Saddam Hussein comparison. That part didn't bother him. But he was very upset about The Cheesecake Factory. He took great umbrage. He said I didn't understand the work of the artisans in the White House.
They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke.
