Had an ex tell me, “as someone without kids, it’s just a reminder that I am one year closer to not having anyone love me simply because I am me. So doing nothing makes me think about it less” He was referencing that his birthday was a reminder that his parents were getting older and those are often the only people that love us unconditionally As a relatively attractive woman, that really woke me up.
