Strategy holds more Bitcoin than the U.S. and China combined.
There is no one catching up.
Saylor and Phong were three years ahead, and they knew it.
I was running some numbers this evening, and the reality of the situation is staggering.
95.7% of bitcoins fixed supply has already been mined.
Look at the major holders:
-Satoshi Nakamoto: ~1.1 million BTC
-Strategy: 848,000 BTC
-BlackRock’s $IBIT: ~802,000–806,000 BTC
-U.S. government: ~319,000–328,000 BTC
-China: ~190,000–194,000 BTC
-Other corporations: ~380,000–450,000 BTC combined
@Strategy holds substantially more Bitcoin than the U.S. and China combined, two of the most powerful countries on the planet.
And at its current pace, the company is on a trajectory to overtake Satoshi sometime next year.
But that’s only part of the picture.
Roughly 2.5–2.7 million BTC sits on exchanges, while known OTC desk inventories are down to approximately 123,000 BTC, around 75% below their 2021 peaks.
Now imagine a sovereign state or major institution waking up tomorrow and deciding to accumulate 50,000–100,000 bitcoin:native in a relatively short window.
They simply can’t do it quietly.
They would have to compete for increasingly scarce supply, work through major OTC desks and exchanges, and risk moving the price against themselves.
And every time Bitcoin moves higher, Strategy’s engine starts spinning faster.
A rising Bitcoin price strengthens the value of its holdings and improves its ability to raise capital through its ATM programs.
What makes it difficult to catch @Strategy is that its engines accelerate as you try to close the gap.
Could someone eventually surpass Strategy? It’s not technically impossible.
But catching up isn’t simply a matter of deciding to buy Bitcoin. It’s a race for a scarce asset against a company that has spent years building the infrastructure to accumulate it.
You would need shareholder alignment, comparable capital markets capabilities, and the ability to outpace @Strategy while it continues accelerating its own purchases.
The threat of Strategy being overtaken, in my opinion, is virtually non-existent.
It has secured one of the largest positions in the most advanced form of money ever created.
We get lost in share prices and daily volatility.
Sometimes it’s worth stepping back and looking at the bigger picture.
Strategy is building Rome in the digital empire.
Mission: Strategy.

German hospitals are preparing for a possible war, with the Bundeswehr expecting to receive up to 1,000 wounded soldiers a day, Bloomberg reports. The country's five military hospitals would quickly reach capacity, forcing civilian hospitals to treat battlefield casualties. The military is also reviving Cold War-era facilities, including a nuclear bunker hospital in Ulm designed for 2,000 people. Civilian surgeons are being trained to treat combat injuries, while Germany is also seeking to reduce its dependence on Chinese medical supplies.
