Genius parenting, or a little too savage?
Her eighth grader keeps fighting her on bedtime, so she gives him one night with none. The rules: he can't wake up in a bad mood, he's going to school, and he can't complain. By her telling he pulled an all-nighter. She drives him to school anyway, says no when he asks for an early pickup, and emails the school nurse to send him back to class if he comes in asking to sleep. The nurse writes back that he did, and she sent him back.
No yelling, no lecture, no taking the door off the hinges. She let the consequence do the teaching, and he'll remember it longer than any speech. Emailing his teachers to give him a hard time might be one step further than I'd go. The nurse email, though, is a work of art. And she admits on camera that she feels a little bad, which tells you she's doing it out of love and not spite.
Our boys are still little, so I'm filing this one away for middle school.
That kid is going to love 9 p.m. now.

A year ago, I said Mississippi and Louisiana could be competitive with real investment. Turns out, I was right.
Now the country is talking about @scott_colom in Mississippi, while @jamieforlouisiana came within 25,000 votes in Louisiana.
I made the case directly to DNC Chair Ken Martin in April, after raising the same concerns on @joyannreid.
The Deep South doesn’t lack voters. It lacks investment.
Maybe it’s time national leadership started listening to Black folks on the ground who know what they’re talking about.

Everyone is bewildered as to why.
I have a theory.
Check the racial demographics of the bar exam takers whom she took points away from. This IS the Deep South. She didn’t even need to get paid off. Ppl are racist for free😭😭
Wow. For years, an official in Arkansas allegedly tampered with bar exam scores, pulling points from some test takers and giving them to others.
This caused numerous failing exams to pass, and resulted in "at least one instance" where an otherwise passing exam fell below the requisite threshold.
