I'll read behind the paywall when I get back into the office Monday, but are we saying that the fallopian tubes are central to the pathogenesis of ovarian cancer?
A new JACS article calls on all abdominal surgeons to consider elective salpingectomy at the time of abdominal surgery as an ovarian cancer prevention strategy.

A long time in the making but we got this project out! Shaking is required to claim you're achieving the H in HIPEC

TFW you're studying for your upcoming boards and part of the chapter starts sounding eerily familiar.
After an 8h drive turned into 14h following some electrical issues with the camper and one ill-advised second guessing of the GPS, I'm spending my first official night as a Texan at a rest stop outside Amarillo. The move is so close to being over I can taste it!

Wonderful talk by my senior co-fellow @WillChart4Food #SSO2022. Grateful both of us could present our work this year thanks to incredible mentorship from our faculty @UofLDeptofSurg @McMastersKelly
Super agree. Always partial to Greenfields. Straightforward read. Some other texts get a little too wordy and start to sound like a grey hair's memoir (I'm allowed to say that because the hair under my cap is nearly white these days). Also recommend the Fiser book for ABSITE prep
Listening to @BehindTheKnife #ABSITE review for @AmBdSurg QE prep on my way to work this morning. A pager goes off in trauma pt 2 and I immediately reach for my hip. Haven't worn a pager in almost a year... #pavlov #certifiednotqualified

Terrific @KU_Surgery Grand Rounds and discussion on Palliative Care for the General Surgeon by @LeahTatebe. Palliative care doesn’t mean hospice, doesn’t mean giving up, does mean delivering patient-centered care.
Seemed like a positive response at #SSO2021 to our work on using computer sim to optimize HIPEC. @hipecsurgeon we may need to start up that collab we've talked about. Have some ideas for next phase! @SPeritoneum @SocSurgOnc
So TIL sitting in the virtual green room is not any less stressful than sitting IRL waiting to be called for a session. 5 min to HIPEC talks! @hipecsurgeon @UofLDeptofSurg #SSO2021
Passed my @AmBdSurg oral boards! Now just to take the pre-requisite written exam next spring. 2020s been weird...
Not necessarily something you see every day. The first indexed PubMed article. Was working on a data mining project and kept getting single digit PMIDs. Apparently they are real

I guess being an adult is the initial "snow day" rush you feel when you find out QE has been cancelled followed immediately by the crushing realization that I just have to study all over again #MedTwitter @AmBdSurg
Proctortrack servers a little on the anemic side? Trying to connect for the phone video scans and getting stonewalled.

Not the most practice-changing article but definitely one of the most fun to be involved with. Congrats @TheKellen_Gil on a first authorship in a great journal. @EndocrineSurgKC @KU_Surgery @KUMedicine
