Platypus v3.23.0 is out.
Adjacent tool calls in a chat now collapse into one Tool call group. A turn with a dozen web searches and file reads takes one row instead of twelve, and each call is still a click away.

Platypus v3.19.0 is out!
Skills are now file bundles, not a single SKILL file. Import and export them as zips, agents can read bundled files with the new readSkillFile tool, and the bundle is copied into the Sandbox when the skill loads.

Platypus agents now speak A2A 1.0. Create an endpoint for an agent, point Hermes or any other A2A client at it, and you can chat with the agent from there. Each conversation also shows up as a normal chat you can carry on in the web UI.

Platypus 3.14 is out. The version number is irrational, but the changes aren't.
There's a new one-line installer and if an MCP server can't be reached, a turn now uses its last-known tools. Plus 26 bug fixes. 🐞

Running team AI agents shouldn’t mean handing your data to another SaaS.
Platypus is an open-source, self-hosted full-stack application for teams building AI agents on their own infrastructure and models.
It helps you assemble agents that can reason, call tools, and run on schedules by bundling agent configuration, reusable skills, sandboxed execution, and workspace controls in one application.
Key features:
• Agents, skills & sub-agents – define an agent’s model, instructions, and tools, then add reusable skills and delegated sub-agents
• MCP support – connect agents to local and remote data sources through Model Context Protocol
• Isolated sandbox – provide shell and filesystem access in a per-workspace environment, with Docker and SSH reference backends
• Schedules & webhooks – run agents on cron or one-off schedules and receive HMAC-signed callbacks with filtering and retries
• Provider choice – use hosted, proxied, or local models through providers including OpenAI-compatible endpoints
It’s open-source (MIT license).

In this 2️⃣ part blog series, read along on how to migrate your secrets to #AWSSecretsManager and achieve a cloud-based and modern secrets management system 📊

I've just open-sourced an AWS CDK app which uses Mozilla SOPS for centralising secret management. Securely store secrets in git and deploy to AWS Secrets Manager.

A post I wrote recently on scheduling the pausing of AWS App Runner services to save money in non-prod environments.

Minor update to this. Have now added an architecture diagram to better explain the inner workings of the CDK construct.
