Another beautiful sunset tonight at the lakeshore! Above average temperatures hold all the way through Halloween weekend. Our next chance for just a few scattered showers holds off until Thursday. #MIWx
Dark mode activated! Bring home the W, boys! 🔵⚫️🔵⚫️ #Lions
(Will blinded by the sun, also activated)
This October continues to impress. More beautiful weather ahead for tomorrow, just a bit more mid/high level cloud cover. Temperatures remain above average all the way through Halloween. #MIWx
Cameras at the ready this evening! Like last night, some upper level clouds should give a nice painted sky effect around and just after sunset tonight! #MIwx
Fall weather at its finest this week. No rain expected in the next 7 days at least with sunshine and comfortable temperatures. Enjoy! #MIWx
I'm taking a moment of appreciation for just how beautiful this October has been thus far. On the whole, our monthly average temperature is trending about 5F above 30-year norms, and that will likely hold given our warm and dry 7-day forecast. #MIwx

Our last frost advisory of the season has been rolled out ahead of tonight's lows in the 30s. Compared to this morning, frost will be a bit more spotty thanks to lows expected to be a couple degrees warmer. #MIWx
Cool watching this line of lake effect clouds left over from yesterday park itself over Lake Michigan this morning, then begin to drift back northeast as the winds shift. #MIwx
What an epic shot by Andy Sutton out in South Haven this evening! Such amazing clouds and waves out there today. #LakeMichigan
Our first true gales of the fall season have arrived! 🌬️ Waves are pelting the lakeshore this evening, and will still continue building through about sunset tonight. Offshore buoys are currently measuring heights around 10 ft., but heights up to about 16 ft. are possible. #MIwx
Lake effect season has arrived! Dramatic skies with strong northerly gales on Lake Michigan today with wave heights around 9ft. at most buoys as we approach 5 pm. #MIwx
BRING IN YOUR MUMS (as in the plants): Frost and freeze alerts have been rolled out for tonight through early Saturday morning. Lows are expected to bottom out in the lower/mid 30s overnight. This is right around the time we typically see out first low 32° or colder. #MIwx
NOAA released their updated winter outlook for Dec-Jan-Feb, and it mirrors much of what we'd expect given the ongoing strong El Niño in the Pacific Ocean. Here in West Michigan, there are much stronger signals for above average temperatures than precipitation. (1/2)
The red on the map does NOT mean we won't see cold spells or snowy stretches, it just means warmer than average conditions are most likely to dominate that three month period. Here's a different way to visualize NOAA's outlook for West Michigan specifically. (2/2) #MIwx
