The easiest Miami sports investigation I have ever taken on.
I recently visited a house in Miami owned by a Heat player. (My client was the prospective buyer). The house was the scene of a bankruptcy in action.
The player was at the end of his career. Selling the house at a significant loss after just a few years of owning it. Important to note: Miami single family over $5M is one of the best performing segments of the real estate market here. He managed to lose money on a house in a market that shot up. Amazing.
Easily over $5M of cars in the driveway (I am not exaggerating). And three rooms full of mostly sneakers. Thousands of pairs. It was mind boggling.
The listing agent started to extoll the virtues of the driveway, saying how nicely cars fit. My buyer, who can buy the whole thing in cash, deadpans that he does not have a car.
The contrast was rather poetic, in a tragic sort of way.

This. Tampa and Miami get a lot of crap for the number of visiting fans at games but it's really a structural thing driven by how many transplants there are in Florida and also the fact that it's a tourist destination with a lot of cheap and accessible flights.
Genuine answer.
The Brewers have been around for over a half a century with a rich history. Think Robin Yount and Paul Molitor. Like the Rays, they have never won a WS.
Tampa Bay is a top vacation destination area. So much to do. People come here all the time to go to our beaches, golf, catch a local sporting event to root for their home town team.
More importantly, based on census data, there are about 50,000 to 60,000 people from Wisconsin that have transplanted here. Imagine growing up a Brewers fan and having the opportunity to see your hometown team win a WS. What do you do? You do everything in your power to snag tickets. Have a yard sale. Whatever. You are going to the game(s). And for the record, it was about a 70/30 Rays - Brewers split last night. About what you would expect. Expecting even more Brewers fans in the Trop tonight.

Game 4 of the World Series made you feel something. And along the way, before the game goes away for while, it gave us more baseball, and that’s something to celebrate. Column, free at ESPN, on the Rays’ new life: espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/5030…

Hell of an answer from the Rays. They’ve battled like this all year, too.
We can sleep but get more baseball tomorrow. (Today)

UConn/Purdue Observations:
1. The Huskies may have another weapon as a backup center in Stanford transfer Oskar Giltay (12 points, 4 rebounds).
2. Nik Khamenia has made a seamless transition to PF.
3. Purdue's interior offense looks non-existent.

THE. RAYS. DO. NOT. PLAY. IN TAMPA CURRENTLY.
THE RAYS PLAY IN AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT CITY.
THEY WILL BE MOVING TO TAMPA IN TWO+ YEARS
I think the World Series this year is proving 2 things.
1) this Brewers team is historically good. I don't think any team in the last decade could beat them.....including the Dodgers title teams.
2) MLB has to move the Rays out of Tampa. It's pathetic. The population of that city does not give a shit. They are in the World Series and it felt like a Brewers home game. It's an embarassment to the sport. #MLB

Worst take of the day is from those saying drafting Quenton Nelson was a bad idea.
Anyone saying this is either being dishonest or has a short memory.
Context matters: The Colts had spent years trying to protect Luck. Nelson was drafted to pair with Andrew. Period.

FINAL/12: Rays 4, Brewers 3
Tampa Bay’s season looked like it was over after Cooper Pratt’s 12th-inning home run. Then the Rays fought back and walked off the Brewers with four straight hits. That was a damn good baseball game -- and a great win. The World Series continues.
