WinEED member Claudia Aravena presented her paper “Assessing the benefits of biodiversity conservation policies in the Galapagos Islands – does the value of marine megafauna change with the type of policy?” at the #EfDannualmeeting2024 in #Nairobi #EfD2024 @EfD_initiative (1/4)
Using the contingent valuation method, they found how much tourists are willing to contribute to fund enforcement of the conservation measures in Galapagos. They found that potential tourists do not differentiate between conservation policies (3/4).
In summary, it is important to achieve conservation, no matter how you do it (4/4). #EfD
