#OnThisDay in 1558 Queen Elizabeth I ascends to the throne after the death of her half sister Mary Tudor. Mary Tudor was married to Philip II of Spain here at Winchester Cathedral on the 25th of July 1554. This chair is said to have been used by Mary during the wedding
