Presented at #ASCO26—OptiTROP-Lung05 phase 3 interim analysis. The findings suggest first-line treatment with sacituzumab tirumotecan (sac-TMT) plus pembrolizumab significantly prolonged PFS vs pembrolizumab alone in patients with PD-L1-positive advanced NSCLC without targetable genomic alterations. This year the theme of the #WorldCancerDay calls for the importance of patient centered care. Each cancer patient is unique in their needs, their hopes, their fears, their dreams. We need to do better at listening and recognizing the importance of the patient voice
The uniqueness of each patient is at the heart of this year’s #WorldCancerDay. 🎧 Louise Chappell and Na’ama Carlin, both cancer survivors, discuss the importance of personalised cancer care and its effect on their bodies and their lives. spkl.io/6017AsBGH

Thanks @oncodaily and @UICC for bringing the community together today! Patients are unique in their needs but we are all united by the same goal. Greatful to be part of this inspiring community. #WorldCancerDay
During this session @gonzalolopezcu @EricaBarnell , @DrSDNimer,@WisdomVania, Eduardo Cazap, @TezerKutluk Neil Ranasinghe, @Elen_Baloyan, @PGrivasMDPhD @amalsargsyan Alex Mutombo Baleka, @ymartei, @DrUddiGoswami shared perspectives on advancing cancer care across diverse global settings. Panelists underscored major barriers to cancer care ranging from limited access to timely diagnostics and effective treatment to wide differences in health system capacity across regions. They discussed ways to address these gaps through innovation, strong partnerships, and context-specific strategies aimed at improving patient outcomes. Key themes included strengthening infrastructure, expanding and upskilling the oncology workforce, and integrating community-based models so care can reach people who are often left behind. The discussion also highlighted the critical role of clinical trials, especially in low- and middle-income countries, emphasizing the need to improve access, build local research capacity, and secure sustainable funding and supportive systems to run trials effectively. Overall, the session reinforced that collaborative action and continuous knowledge exchange are essential to closing cancer care gaps—sharing examples of impactful initiatives and practical recommendations for more resilient, equitable oncology services worldwide.
