Descent The distance between who we were and who we become is rarely traveled upward. On objkt Descent came from thinking about the things that make us feel like we can fly, and what happens when we lose them. The woman lies in the middle of a desert with one of her wings clipped. She still has the other, but she can no longer rise the way she once could. For me, the desert represents that empty space we sometimes find ourselves in after losing a part of who we were. The piece is about falling, but not necessarily the end. Sometimes descent is simply a part of rising . Sometimes we have to come back to the ground, sit with what we’ve lost, and figure out what remains.
