Alektorophobia: The fear of chickens.
I’ve eaten an awful lot of chicken in my lifetime. At this point, I’m less afraid of the chickens themselves and more concerned that they’ve started comparing notes.
They are small by themselves but get enough together and they can take me down. I know it’s unreasonable but I am never known as a reasonable man.
So to be safe I’ll have a burger for lunch and Kielbasa for dinner.

Mud E is on patrol with full sass and zero chill. The goats are holding their daily fence meeting (agenda: snacks and mild rebellion).
The cows are just standing out there like they already planned the whole week better than I did.
Diet Coke poured, boots on, and a grateful heart for new mercies and another day of this beautiful chaos.

Esau and Scout held a secret meeting, voted unanimously to dig a tunnel under the pasture fence, and executed their escape plan with military precision.
So now I’m out here playing hide-and-seek with a Great Pyrenees who thinks they are on a grand adventure while the rest of the farm watches from the sidelines like this is entertainment.
My Diet Coke is warm, boots are muddy, and my “peaceful morning routine” has officially been canceled.
But hey—at least the goats are supportive.

After growing up watching Chucky, Poltergeist, Dolly Dearest, and every other horror movie involving a possessed doll, I think my fear is perfectly reasonable. I’ve never trusted anything that can blink without breathing.
There is also something very troubling about something that simultaneously looks so human but frozen in time.
