Probably, I was among the first ones to call out that Jio Platforms will become second largest company on listing in India and will have a market cap greater than Bharti Airtel.
Most experts and news channels were expecting Jio to be 4th largest behind Reliance, Airtel and HDFC.

Jio Platforms set to become the third largest listed company today on India’s stock exchanges?
Subscribed 22x priced at ₹1,119.
Jio may start by listing 10% up at around 1,230 which will give it a market cap of 11.5 lakhs crore.
If it lists at ~20% up around 1,340, it will become the second largest company.
Bharti Airtel is 12 lakh crore.
Number 1 is Reliance Industries.
The premium over the IPO price has continued to hover around 20% for roughly 10 days, which is unusually resilient for an offering of this size and in this kind of bearish market set up.

Post, the short escalation, Donald Trump will declare “self-victory” and will announce pathway to withdraw from the region.
The bond yield top is done in USA till Midterms end. (November 3)
Even after a hot CPI print yesterday, 10 year bond first moved to 5.32%, then retraced back and ended negative and is now at 5.10%
Positive for Indian Rupee and markets for at least a fortnight.
Post midterm, risk of Iran-USA war escalating for 7-15 days is a real chance before it eventually ends.

Going forward, you won’t be allowed to buy U.S stocks directly from India.
- RBI has proposed to abolish the LRS limit for Capital Account transfers, i.e from $250,000 to $0 under automatic route.
- Basically, this will kill the model of foreign investing or the ability to invest outside India.

Proposed Limit: INR 50 lakhs ($55,000)
- Business travel and pilgrimages may be brought under the proposed Rs 50 lakh sub-limit.

Posted about Swiggy at ~280-300 that it will go below 200 and 100 in months to come.👇
Brokerages have come out with a 2031 estimates for Swiggy with targets of 100% upside.
I think you should stay AWAY from the counter.
Swiggy businesses into quick commerce requires cash burn to gain market share as well as regular capex for dark stores etc. Given its current financial and competitive landscape involving Blinkit, Amazon, Flipkart, Tata’s and Reliance, Swiggy won’t live till 2031.
The shares should slowly and steadily move towards sub 200 and sub 100 before being acquired in next 2-3 years. Current price is 285.
Not a buy or sell advice.
Approximately ₹4.90 lakh crore liquidity gets released today from the Jio Platforms IPO as it gets listed tomorrow on October 28.
Category-wise breakdown:
• QIB: 70.55x (~3.87 lakh crore)
• NII: 14x (~57,109 crore)
• Retail: 2.72x (~25,867 crore)
• Plus employees and RIL shareholders
The listing pop up, liquidity availability, LTCG rumours will provide support to the stock markets as US goes into the Midterms on November 3.

Tomorrow Jio Platforms is listing.
Jio’s proposed market cap: ₹10 lakh crore.
In the most bullish scenario, if 20% pop-up happens, it adds: ₹2 lakh crore → listed market cap of Jio becomes ₹12 lakh crore
• RIL’s stake: 66% of the pop-up value = 0.66 × ₹2 lakh crore = ₹1.32 lakh crore
0.70 × ₹1.32 lakh crore = ₹0.924 lakh crore (≈ ₹92,400 crore)
• Assuming, Holding-company discount of 30%, Reliance Industries may add 92,000 crore of market cap.
- It means, Reliance Industries may rise by around 5%
If the listing pop up is 10%, it may result in 2.5% rise in Reliance shares.
Zee Business is currently airing suggestions made by Reserve Bank of India on LTCG.
- RBI gives major suggestions to boost FII, FDI.
- RBI's suggestions to stop dollar outflow.
Proposal are for LTCG tax abolishment and rate reduction for NRI investors.
Nothing to do in the stock markets, just sitting back quietly watching for the downward bias to halt and the bulls to show some signs of life.
Bastion Goa!
The LTCG tax relief chatter has picked up significantly over last two days.
Will it be done now or in Budget 2027?
My bet is sooner than later!👇

India's Capital Markets Taxation: The Big Voices Are Speaking Up
Vallabh Bhanshali — Co-founder, Enam Group | 19 October 2026
“I think it should never have been there. And if there is no one in the world taxing FIIs the way we are doing, why should we have been doing it?”
Samir Arora — Founder, Helios Capital | 23 October 2026
“How can taxes not matter?” Arora argued that India competes with other markets for global capital and that lower taxation could improve India's attractiveness. He questioned why India should maintain taxes that put foreign investors at a disadvantage relative to other destinations.
Ajit Dayal — Founder, Quantum Advisors | October 2026
“I can state with confidence that, in 36 years of interaction with FPIs, we have never seen such dismay.”
Akash Prakash — Veteran investor, Amansa Capital | October 2026
“I have been investing in Indian equities for over 30 years. Rarely have I seen foreign sentiment this bad. All allocators are upset about the capital gains tax”
Ketan Dalal — Founder, Katalyst Advisors | 19 October 2026
“One of the greatest disadvantages ... foreign portfolio investors face is that the taxation of capital gains is in rupee terms and not in dollar terms.”
Soumya Kanti Ghosh — Group Chief Economic Adviser, SBI | 12 October 2026
Soumya Kanti Ghosh — Group Chief Economic Adviser, SBI | 12 October 202
SBI's Ecowrap recommended examining the abolition of long-term capital gains tax on equity, alongside extending the holding period to two or three years. Its argument focuses on attracting more stable capital and improving policy predictability.
Nilesh Shah — MD, Kotak Mahindra AMC | 13–16 October 2026
“Undoubtedly, the dual taxation by way of STT as well as capital gain is something which has bothered investors both globally as well as locally.”
What is your view?
Swiggy now conveniently below 200. Hit lower circuit today.
The company is on track to be acquired/sold for peanuts.
